Masuk Jalan Cikini Raya, lewat TIM (sebelah kiri), lewat 7-eleven , masuk kom- plek ruko “central cikini” sebelah kanan. Parkir depan “Texas Chicken” Tempat kami adalah pintu kuning yang sebelah kiri nya Texas. The cheapest way to get here from the airport is to take the public ‘DAMRI’ bus to ‘GAMBIR’ train station. Walk out of the arrivals hall and turn left, then keep walking until you see the bus shelter, you can buy your ticket at the Damri kiosk or on the bus for just Rp. 40,000. The last bus leaves around 23.30. When you get off at Gambir station we are about 2km south so you can take a bajaj (tuk-tuk) or ojek (motorcycle taxi) or just a regular taxi – it’s normally around Rp. 30,000 “tiga puluh ribu” (20,000 if you bargain hard!). Ask the driver to take you to “Jalan Cikini Raya’ (it’s pronounced chi-key-ni). We only have a small sign outside the front door so just look for ‘Texas chicken’ in a complex on the right hand side - we’re the yel- low door right next door to it. If you choose a taxi from the airport, make sure you find one of the better companies, and one of the the newer-looking taxis. Ignore the touts out- side arrivals and walk to the real taxis in front. Good companies are Blue Bird, Express, Gamia, TaxiKu. For around $30 you can take a ‘Silver Bird’ taxi - the safest drivers in black Mercedes cars – just find the black ‘Silver Bird’ stand on the road. The most important thing is that you insist that air- port taxis use the meter (“will you use the meter?” = ‘Pakai Argo?”). On top of the meter fee, you have to pay an airport ‘surcharge’ of Rp10,000, and you’ll also have to cover the toll road fees- around Rp15,000 in total.
