* Student must have a valid of KKU-AELT test result before applying for the courses.* The course result will be announced within 15 days on the website.* Doctoral student of KKU must pass The KKU-AELT register test for within 2 years from the admission date.

• Application fee - Master’s Students 2,000 Baht/Course - Doctoral Students 3,000 Baht/Course

• Register - Register online and print out a payment slip at https://englishservices.kku.ac.th. - Payment can be made at any branch of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB). - Result can be downloaded from the website.

Students who do not pass the KKU-AELT test can take academic English language courses in order to meet the Graduate School’s requirement of English language proficiency. The 30-hour courses provided for both master’s and doctoral students are listed below.

• Scanning general texts (e.g., tables, advertisements, graphs, charts) and texts in his or her field of study• Previewing and predicting paragraphs and longer general texts• Guessing meaning of unfamiliar words using context, grammatical information and word parts• Making inferences from texts• Determining the main idea and important details in general and academic texts• Applying note-taking strategies including underlining, annotating, outlining and mapping in general and

academic texts

Academic Writing for Master’s Students : 30 Hours

• Writing different types of sentence structures• Analyzing different types of sentence problems (e.g., fragments, run-on, choppy and stringy sentences)• Writing cohesive and coherent texts• Understanding the writing process and elements of a paragraph including a topic sentence, a main idea,

• การใช้กลวธิกีารอ่านPreviewingและPredictingในการคาดเดาเนือ้เรือ่งท่ีอ่านอย่างถกูต้องท้ังในการอ่านระดบัย่อหน้าและการอ่านเรื่องยาวในบริบททั่วไปและเฉพาะในสาขาวิชาของผู้เรียน

articles and research articles) in his/her field

Academic Writing for Doctoral Students I (30 Hours)
