The following benefits are relevant:

SLIPDAC SLIPDAC

The pulling force required to pull the product through conduit, is significantly reduced, as the cable-to-conduit and cable tocable friction is lower than on the standard product.

The product is neatly and accurately coiled on automatic coilers, which reduces the risk of entanglement.

The coils are sized for placement in a standard bucket where they may be stored securely afteruse. Refer PHOTO 3.

The heat-shrunk plastic used in the packaging, keeps the coil in a sturdy, compact form until such time as it is used, thusthere is a reduced risk of entanglement due to poor handling.

The perforated packaging allows for easy access to the wire end on the inside of the coil, without having to disturb thepackaging or the body of the coil during use. Refer PHOTO 1.

The packaging is perforated on both the top and bottom, thus allowing coils to be stacked for simultaneous extraction ofall required colours. A useful tool for this purpose is a bucket, which will hold the stacked coils in place while the wire isbeing withdrawn. Refer PHOTO 2.

A specially developed low friction PVC compound which is used in the insulation of House wire for supply to the South Africanmarket.

The decreased coefficient of friction is the result of the migration of the slip additives to the cable surface due to the definedincompatibility of the slip additive with the polymer. ("Slip" is a term used to describe the sliding of parallel film surfaces over eachother or the sliding of film surfaces over substrates.)

WHAT ARETHE BENEFITS OFTHIS PRODUCT SOLUTION COMPAREDTO STANDARD HOUSEWIRE?

has established a procedure for testing of thepulling force required to pull a sample of cable through a preformedlength of standard 20mm SABS conduit. The initial force required tomove the cable was measured and recorded for a number of samplesof different sizes in the house wire range of colours, for both standardproducts as well as for

See attached photograph of the rig used during testing.(The conduit was exchanged for an unused piece from the same batch,at regular intervals).

Use of intermediate Voltage allows increased power transfer over long distances with smaller conductor sizes, eg for loadstypically 25 kVA this represents a considerable saving when compared to conventional systems.

Underground cable - with a specially adapted tractor, the cable can be buried with minimum labour, and thus least cost.

Buried cable results in a "clean" landscape - no poles or overhead lines to hinder farm vehicles.

Screened cable construction for ease of fault location.

SPECIAL SILICONEPOLYESTER & GLASS FIBRE BRAIDED CABLE

High conductivity tinned stranded, flexible copper conductors to SANS 1411 Part 1. Insulated with Silicone RubberType RD7 to SANS1411 Part 3. Cables are then layered with a varnished Impregnated Glass Fibre Braid or a varnished Impregnated Polyester Braid.

The internal wiring of all kinds of domestic, industrial, mining, automotive, aeronautical and marine equipment, wherehigh operating temperatures prevail.

Also applications that require medium mechanical protection against damage to the silicon in the form of a protective braid.

Fire Survival cables

are designed toreduce the spread of fire along a cable tray or duct. However, when thesecables burn, they give off large quantities of toxic gases and smoke.

has specially formulated PVC thatreduces the emission of hydrochloric acid during burning of the cables.

are designed to reduce flamepropagation and smoke in those instances where a fire may develop. Byreplacing the standard PVC with XLPE insulation and EVA bedding and outersheath, no HCI gases will be liberated during the burning of the cables.

essentially are very similar to LOTOX cables butcontain in additional a glass/mica tape, wrapped around each conductor, toprevent short circuits during a fire situation. The cables allow continuity ofoperation of vital circuits, and are designed to survive exposure to atemperature of 950°C for a period of three hours.
