APPLICATIONThe cast − resin insulated, single−phase, supporting current transformers type IMZ 10 are intended for supplyingmeasuring instruments and protective circuits of electrical power devices with maximum operating voltage of the powernetwork up to 12 kV and frequency 50 Hz.The range of rated primary currents: 5 ÷ 1500 A and 2 × 15 ÷ 2 × 600 A.Version with one, two or three cores.

CHARACTERISTICS− small overall dimensions,− the width of transformer, which enables the installation with distance between phases t =150 mm,− all of mounting dimensions enable the interchangeability of transformers of this type with other transformers

manufactured by well−known firms,− the reliability of operation.

OPERATING CONDITIONSThe current transformers type IMZ 10 are designed for operation in indoor equipment, in temperate and tropical climateconditions, and in aggressive environmental conditions. Thanks to the increased impulse test voltage strength and tothe increased rated thermal strength the current transformers type IMZ 10 are able to operate at altitudes up to 2600 mabove sea level. Long−duration thermal current and limits of deviations of transformers in class of accuracy 0,5 corre−spond to extended current range for 120% × Ipn. The lowest permissible temperature during transportation and storageamounts to 218 K (−55oC). The current transformers type IMZ 10 are designed for operation at temperatures from 268 K(−5oC) to 313 K (+40oC).

DESIGN AND PRINCIPLE OF OPERATIONThe cast − resin insulated current transformers type IMZ 10 are single−phase, low power transformers, operating inquasi short−circuit conditions, transforming the primary current flowing through the high voltage circuit to the secondarycurrent at low potential with the accuracy according to their class. The basic structural components of the current transformers are: primary winding, secondary winding or windings, magnetic core and steel base. The primary winding is cast in epoxy−resin mixture. The resinous casting constitutes themain insulation of the transformer. The secondary windings, wound on the insulating spools, are placed together with themagnetic cores in the window of the resinous casting. The steel base is screwed down to the resinous casting. There isthe terminal box in the base, in which there are installed the terminal plates with the leads of secondary windingsconnected to them. The grounding of no matter which of the terminals of secondary winding is made by screwing in abolt, which is present in a small foil bag placed in the terminal box.We deliver, on Customer’s request, the cover for current transformers with two and three cores, which enables thesealing of the terminals of measuring windings only.
