For almost six decades, AABR has been dedicated to its mission “may eachlife find meaning.” From its inception as a parent-founded recreationprogram for six severely intellectually disabled and blind children,

AABR has expanded to a citywide community-based agency serving nearly1,000 individuals with developmental disabilities. AABR provides

a wide range of services, including residential, adult day habilitation,ffamily support, recreational, and vocational training along with theNew York Child Learning Institute, a school for children with autism.

Continuing to lead in facing tomorrow’s challenges, AABR isconfronting the increasing needs of our elderly population anddeveloping programs for young adults with autism, while providing

a life filled with dignity and independence.
