a. thinking (reading) about a topic
b. observing a scene
c. expressing understanding,
d. recording personal thoughts on specific readings or discussions,
e. correcting (repairing) expressions (using material developed in d.), developing control of language through grammar lessons

1. nominal phrases; nouns, articles, adjectives; pronouns; order of words in the sentence + verbal phrases; regular verbs in the present tense, contrast between ser and estar, irregular present tense
2. verbs in the present progressive, past participles as adjectives; adverbs, distinction between por and para + verbs in the past; preterite and imperfect, conjunctions
3. gender and number, pronouns, relative clauses + formal and informal commands, conditionals
4. passive voice and impersonal sentences, negative expressions + the present and past subjunctive
