A message from Billy & Marsha Cooke and Jim & Jeanna Meek 2016 Capital Campaign Connecting Hearts Co-chairs We are excited to be serving as the Co-Chairs for the “Connecting Hearts” Capital Campaign. As children, many of us enjoyed Connect the Dots workbooks. What appeared to be a random series of numbered dots soon revealed a work of art once all the dots were connected. Our Connection Center is, in essence, a Connect the Dots canvas through which God is connecting himself to us and the Katy community. While these connections may seem random to us, God sees a beautiful picture of ministry that he is creating through us. When we welcome guests into the church, we are actually welcoming Christ. The Connection Center is the focal point of where God is connecting the heart of the church to the heart of Katy. Just as we stepped out in faith six years ago to build the Connection Center, now we are being called to complete that journey through the next step of faith. We have been given a living legacy that is First United Methodist Church. We honor the commitments of those who have come before us by building upon the foundation they have laid. The significance of the Connecting Hearts Capital Campaign is much larger than retiring debt and updating facilities. It is about changing lives and transforming hearts for Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us in prayer in anticipation of the Connecting Hearts Capital Campaign. We believe that when we connect to God in prayer we discover that God is able to do far more than what we can ask or imagine. Center,nowwearebeingcalledtocompletethatjourney
throughthenextstepoffaith.
WehavebeengivenalivinglegacythatisFirstUnited
MethodistChurch.Wehonorthecommitmentsofthose
whohavecomebeforeusbybuildinguponthefoundation
theyhavelaid.ThesignificanceoftheConnectingHearts
CapitalCampaignismuchlargerthanretiringdebt
andupdatingfacilities.Itisaboutchanginglivesand
transformingheartsforJesusChrist.

metorealizethatIhadfoundanewspiritualhome.

people.Itisherethatour
loveofGodandneighboris
expressedintangibleways;
andfromherethatwearesentintotheworldtoservein
Christ’sname.
Thisfallwewillenterintoathirdcapitalcampaignthatis
named“ConnectingHearts.”Thepurposeofthiscampaign
istoretiretheremainingdebtontheConnectionCenter
andtoprovidefundsforneededimprovementsinthe
FamilyLifeCenterandEducationBuilding.TheChurch
Councilhassetatargetgoalof$1.1million.
IaskthatyoubeinprayerfortheConnectingHearts
Campaign.Wehaveagreatleadershipteaminplace
whoareexcitedtoseewhatGodwilldothroughyour
generosity.Theyarecommittedtotheidealthatwhen
