A new memorial window has been placed in

the office corridor along the Shrader

Memorial Garden.

The Journeys of Paul In memory of Julia Yonkers Given by family and friends

Trained as a Pharisee, Saul was a determined

persecutor of early Christians. However, after

his conversion while traveling to Damascus,

he became one of the most important

figures in the spread of Christianity.

Paul made three missionary journeys

throughout Asia Minor and Europe,

preaching and teaching the Gospel and

establishing churches in Thessalonica,

Corinth, Philippi, Ephesus, and other places.

The markers on the window indicate places

where he stopped and spent time during his

trips. Scholars attribute as many as twelve of

the twenty-seven New Testament books and

letters to Paul.

Originally this area of windows was

dedicated to Jesus and the disciples.

Recently the Board of Trustees broadened

the designation to men of the New

Testament.

Prayer Shawl Ministry Thursday, April 6 •1:00 pm • Little Theater

Prayer shawls provide comfort to members

experiencing grief, illness and other difficult times in

their lives. They are given by our ministerial and

visitation staff, but are available to anyone to give

to friends or family, whether they are members of this church or not. If

you would like to share a Prayer Shawl with a friend or family member,

please contact the church office, 835.6797.

This group is an outreach ministry of the United Methodist Women,

meeting on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm; new

participants are always welcome. Yarn, as well as help with knitting, is

Hope Village (NHV) will talk about the

homeless in Midland County, and how NHV will

help reduce the problem by housing families

together.

Trailside Senior Center. We will have a cafeteria-style lunch, $10/

person; the program will be an overview of senior services.

of you, and for God’s presence to be active in Sunday

Friday dinner, and Saturday breakfast and lunch are included in the

registration fee.

“God Changes Everything” Keynote Speaker: Kelly Hull

Kelly has served in Praise and Worship leadership for the past 15 years.

She received her pastoral license through the Assemblies of God, and

currently serves as worship leader for the “Yahdah” praise service at

Good Shepherd UMC, Roscommon, MI.

The meeting will be held in the Retreat Center Chapel. Participants are

encouraged to dress comfortably and bring a Bible, notebook, and

pen. Come and enjoy fellowship, faith, fun, and food. Plan to sing,

listen, talk, reflect, and worship.

Please respond by Wednesday, April 5 with check ($85 or $45) written to

Saginaw Bay District (SBDUMW). Place the check in the UMW mail box

in the FUMC office. Please include your name, address, and email/

phone number on the check.

Three scholarships of $45 are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If requesting the scholarship, please place the following in the UMW

mailbox by Wednesday, April 5: � a written request for scholarship including an agreement to share a

review of the retreat in our next gathering

� a check for $40 written to SBDUMW. Please include your name,

address, and email/phone number.

We will also be organizing a car pool and overnight sleeping

arrangements (there are 2 persons to a room).

Calling All Children

Pre-K through - 5th grade

Please help us start our Palm Sunday services next Sunday, April 9, with

a swish of palms! Join us as we celebrate Christ’s triumphal entry into

Jerusalem. Children in Pre-K through grade 5 meet in the Parlor, 15 minutes before service to join the palm procession. The children will

process down the center aisle waving the palms to start our morning

worship services. Then they will sit in the front pews until children’s time.
