First, find the sales tax.

Next, add the sales tax to the regular price.

Last, write a sentence to answer the question.

5.75% of 19.98= 0.0575 · 19.98=

Sales tax = 1.15

1.15 + 19.98= 21.13

• You are buying a hoodie that has a price of $39.60. Aeropostle is having a 33% off sale (discount). What is the cost of the hoodie? – Find 33% of $39.60. – Round to the nearest cent. – Subtract the discount from the original price.

$39.60 – 13.07 = $26.53

The hoodie will cost $26.53 after the 33% discount.
