1.2. PROCEDURES IN REDUCED VISIBILITY CONDITIONSReduced visibility procedures are applied when RVR is 1200m or less, or when con-ditions occur which preclude ATC personnel from visually exercise control overthe maneuvering area.Under these conditions a reduction of APT capacity may occur due to ground move-ment restrictions.If RVR is less than 400m, all ACFT ground movements are suspended.
1.2.1. RWY OPERATIONSApproach and landing ILS CAT I for RWY 08 available.
1.2.2. AERODROME OPERATING MINIMUMSRVR not less than 550m for take-off and landing.
1.2.3. GROUND MOVEMENTDuring reduced visibility conditions:- during taxiing of ACFT, vehicle operations except Follow-me car prohibited;- only one ACFT taxiing at the same time in the movement area;- RWY 08 is preferred for take-off and landing;- TWY C and TWY E closed.Arriving ACFT shall vacate RWY 08 via TWY F and RWY 26 via TWY B unless oth-erwise instructed.Departing ACFT shall enter RWY 08 via TWY A and RWY 26 via TWY G.Follow-me is provided if necessary or on request.Unless otherwise instructed by TWR, all pilots shall report the following to Cata-nia TWR:- reaching holding position;- RWY vacation;- reaching stand.
1.3. TAXI PROCEDURESTurn back maneuvers must be performed on RWY heads.In order to avoid damage due to jet blast or slip stream, pilots are requested totaxi with MIM thrust.Taxiing with RVR less than 400m only after Follow-me car.Separation between taxiing ACFT and between taxiing ACFT and obstacles mustbe ensured by the flight crew. When towing, separation is ensured by the towoperator.On main apron, taxiing to/from stands via TWY A.On General aviation apron:- Taxiing to stands via TWYs H, L and taxiing from stands via TWY L.- Self-maneuvering of multiple ACFT at the same time prohibited. - Self-maneuvering only at daytime and in the presence of a marshaller.Unless otherwise instructed by ATC, after landing ACFT shall vacate:- For RWY 08 via TWY F or G.- For RWY 26 via TWY A or B.
1.3.1 RADIO FAILURE ON MANEUVERING AREAIn case of a communication failure the following applies:ACFT shall vacate the RWY and wait for the Follow-me car to be guided to stand.

2.2. TAXI PROCEDURESUnless otherwise instructed by ATC, ACFT shall vacate RWY after landing asfollows:- RWY 08 via TWY F;- RWY 26 via TWY B.On General Aviation apron, flight crews shall report parking maneuver complete.
2.3. COMMUNICATION FAILUREIn the event of radio failure, the reporting point or the radio aid designated todescend for landing are:
For ACFT non-RNAV1-equipped following conventional STAR:- GIGIX (for RWY 08) or INDAX (for RWY 26) if an ATC clearance to the above-
mentioned points has been received and acknowledged;- CTF if the pilot has not received and acknowledged the clearance to GIGIX and
INDAX as appropriate.
For ACFT RNAV1-equipped: - NASOM (for RWY 08) and TOCLA (for RWY 26).

3.1. LIMITATIONS AND REGULATIONS ON MAIN APRONStart-up will be provided after ATC has received "ACFT ready" communication."ACFT ready" means:- Handling operations complete;- ACFT doors and holds are closed;- Stairs retracted or removed- ACFT safety area free of vehicles, personnel, obstacles and equipment which
is not needed for enginge start-up;- Marshalling available, if necessary;- Compulsory documentation provided to handler;- Push-back tractor connected on nose-in stands.Before starting push-back, flight crews must receive approval from GND. GNDwill provide taxi instructions after having received the communication of theflight crew that it is ready to taxi.Only one push-back at the same time on each sector.Simultaneous push-back between adjacent stands are prohibited.Push-back procedures are finishing on the start-up position on TWY A:- Start-up position Q1 for ACFT from stands 300 thru 310;- Start-up position Q2 for ACFT from stands 311 thru 317;- Start-up position Q3 for ACFT from stands 318 thru 323;- Start-up position Q4 for ACFT from stands 324 thru 328;- Start-up position Q5 for ACFT from stands 329 thru 331;- Start-up position Q6 for ACFT from stands 332 thru 334;- Start-up position Q7 for ACFT from stands 335 thru 339.Start-up of a single engine on idle power should take place during the push-backprocedure. 3.3. RWY OPERATIONS3.3.1. MINIMUM RWY OCCUPANCY
Departing ACFT shall complete pre-flight check before line-up.Any further check shall be performed as soon as possible and then line-up or starttake-off run after ATC clearance without delay.Pilots unable to comply with above shall inform ATC as soon as possible beforeenter on RWY.

REMARKDue to the impossibility to determinate alt direction and/or density of volcanic ash cloud due tovariability of the met conditions, all flights within Catania CTR must be conducted with maxattention. All crew will use max caution in order to avoid any contact with mentioned phenomena.Unexpected variations as per direction alt and/or density of the cloud should be carefullyconsidered taking into account proper issued SIGMET.
Depending on sector/s affected, STAR, SID and IAP are avbl as below described (if two or moresectors are interdicted to flight ops, the most restrictive provision will be applied):

FLIGHT CONTINGENCY PROCEDURES IN CASE OF VOLCANIC ASH CLOUDIn order to prevent dangerous effects on the safety of ACFT ops to/from Catania Fontanarossa AD,both in flight and on the ground, due to the presence of volcanic ash cloud during the eruptionof Etna, the airspace of Catania CTR has been divided in sectors, in order to specifyinstrument procs avbl when a sector (or more than one) is/are interdicted for flight ops.
