    in 2007, 82 in 2008 and133 in 2009

    Major projects account for 83 % of the active

    projects, horizontal 9 % and small projects 8 %

    2010 Action Plans contain 115 new actions

    JASPERS in the future More emphasis on the projects in the period after

    approval of an EU grant, initially on a pilot basis

    Preparing for post-2007-2013: a more up-streamrole for JASPERS to ensure a project pipeline for

    2014 onwards

    Capacity building: balance between learning by

    doing projects and a targeted approach tocreating capacity in the Members States
