THE FORMS ABOVE THE CANOPY RELATE TO THERETAIL PARAPETS THAT STEP UP AND DOWN AND ALSO THEFLOATING BOX AND SCREENED ELEMENTS OF THE SYNDALBAPTIST CHURCH, DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE HIGH ST RD /BLACKBURN RD INTERSECTION, A MAJOR AND HIGH QUALITYBUILDING IN THE PRECINCT. MOST APPARENT IN PERSPECTIVEVIEWS, THE ROOF LINE CAN BE SEEN AS A CONTINUATION OFTHE STEPPING NEIGHBOURING PARAPET LINE AND VOLUMES AREEXPRESSED AS FLOATING BLOCKS (ON A SMALLER SCALE THANTHE CHURCH BUILDING) AND VOIDS (GLAZED ELEMENTSBETWEEN).THIS TREATMENT ROUNDS THE CORNER INTO LARCH CRESCENTBUT TRANSFORMS TOWARD THE BUILDING’S NORTHWESTCORNER TO RELATE TO THE RESIDENTIAL CONTEXT. A TWOSTOREY HIGH BRICK ELEMENT FLOATS OVER A RECESSED GREENELEMENT - SCREENING THAT IS TO BE COVERED IN CLIMBINGPLANTS. THERE IS ALSO A LARGE AREA OF PLANTER AT THE TOPOF THE BRICK ELEMENT. THE SECOND AND THIRD LEVELS ABOVESTEP BACK SUBSTANTIALLY FROM THE CORNER. THE LARGERETAIL TENANCY’S FACADE IS SINGLE STOREY AND TOPPED BYPLANTERS.
