    Jeet Kune Do

Jeet Kune Do, the art created byBruce Lee, has evolved as Brucehimself would have wanted. Thekeys of functionality, simplicity,

eliminating everything that is notnecessary, have opened the doors ofthe effectiveness in combat to a wholenew generation of masters, most ofthem inspired by their eternal partnerand prominent student, Dan Inosanto.

It is this feature which has led the wayto the professional application of JKD inthe framework of Police and LawEnforcement. However, this timeProfessor Oliva, known by our readers, has focused on the work of Dumogtechniques for civilians.

Oliva deepens once more on theconcepts and applications of JKDand he does it not only by assumingthe principles that created it, butalso by developing and findingways and solutions that arespectacular in its simplicity andefficiency.

Head blows, knees, bites orelbows, everything is part ofits arsenal if it is useful. Thefair use and the properapproach will be, as always, the key to success.

With th is ar ticle, Ol ivapresents his new DVD onthe subject.Unquestionably, it is aunique contribution tothose who are interestedin reality-based self -defense in the street.

    J.K.D.Explosive Dumog

Knowledge is not power, the ability toapply knowledge is power

    What is J.K.D. ExplosiveDumog?

It is the Philippine version of Grapplingwhich, together with JKD, offers a morecomplete system in terms of offensive ordefensive system and more effective inthe performance of movements andtechniques. In this new video, we willanalyze the techniques which allow, through the appl icat ion of specif icanatomical points, to face an imbalanceof forces. Through an example, we willsee how easy it can be to move aperson with pressure movements, pushing or pulling him (Pression withPush and Pull) from point "A" to point

"B", regardless of the adversary'sphysical constitution. Moreover, I willshow the techniques that wi l l beincluded in my program, as the evolutionof the art I have practiced for manyyears, the JKD Street Line Version.

I will show the Dumog version I teachto civilians, as well as an introduction tothe adapted version for lawenforcement, which completes theirtraining with a more specific program fortheir professional needs. The basis foreffectiveness, intensity and method isthe rhythmic movement, which ensuresthat the student won't be restricted to afixed technique, allowing him to movefreely, being spontaneous and creative, and thereby providing an adequateresponse to the attack.

    The philosophy of J.K.D.Dumog Explosive

The philosophy of Philippine Dumog isbased on the fact of making theopponent's strength disappear, puttingpressure against a punch, elbow or headattack. Acting on the vital anatomicalpoints of the nervous system or, if it isthe case, in contact with the _Body CockPoint_ of the attacker, the goal is to

minimize the strength with a maximumeffect. This will require first of all knowingthe body's anatomy, and then being ableto properly apply the specific Dumogtechniques, in the event of clashes thatbrought us in contact with the _BodyCock Point_ or vital points of the nervous

system of our adversary's body. In fact, the philosophy of Dumog will be to putthis Phi l ippine art together with theconcept of _JKD Street Line Version_,when we find ourselves in uncomfortablesituations, as in the three examples(medium or short distance) listed below:

    1) I f our adversary grabs our shirtextending his arm, we can attack himincluding Dumog techniques, hitting himon the inner or back side of his arm withthe bottom part of ours, limiting theseblows to 6 vital points, as the biceps(also called pericardium 2 or 3 or P-2 orP-3), the triceps (also called Triple heater12 or TW-12), the forearm muscles (also

called L-5), and so on, basing our blowsin the _pull him_ concept, to put theaggressor off-balance, or hitting him onvital points in the muscle, making himlose control of his own body, causingrapid loss of his muscle tension, that is,the total dysfunction of the arm musclestructure.

    2) In the event of suffering a grip withtwo arms, our possibility to fight backwould double, allowing us to hit him onthem, on the right or left part.

    3) In a hand-to-hand clash with theenemy, you would use the Dumog to thechin, the neck, etc. Once again, thephilosophy of my system is to providedefensive techniques adaptable to allpeople, allowing each one to use this artwisely and effectively, without having touse force.

In O.P.F-System you will learn to usethe Dumog through various types ofpunch, gun or knife attacks done by theattacker. These attacks will be controlledand completed standing or on theground. The philosophy behind it is to beable to teach anything that will be usefulfor the person in order to survive,al lowing to acquire very ef fect ivetechnical knowledge and lethal for theadversary. Even i f each situat ion isdifferent, the defensive and offensiveprocedure is similar. What encourages

the philosophy is the evolution. The latteris obtained through the research anddeepening of the tactical and technicalprogram, providing more effectivenesswith less ef fort and infusing moresoftness and lightness to the movement.

The principle and philosophy is totrain and educate our bodies and our

minds , because in a con fl ict we mustrea ct wi th na tura l and ins t inctivemovements.

    Technical program of JKDExplosive Dumog

In the O.P.F-System program wepractice the techniques, principles andconcepts that the person will use withmaximum effect iveness, as Dumogtechniques. The advantage is that thetechniques are adaptable to every type of

person, whether c ivi l ian or lawenforcement experts. The Dumog program includes

techniques such as head, knee or elbowblow, chain fist, knife and gun. The lattertwo elements are part of the programtaught to law enforcement, military andSpecial Forces. The "civilian" version ofDumog I show in this new video wil lteach you the techniques mentionedabove, in the defensive and offensivemode.

The technical program of Dumog isdivided into two parts (a version forcivi l ian and a version for lawenforcement). The civi l program ofExplosive Dumog is performed andintegrated in sensitivity exercises and onvarious attacks, such as Jab, Cross,Hook and chain fist. For example, in theexercise of sensitivity, called Chi Sao,Hub Bud or Lap Sao Dryl ls, we wi l linclude the Dumog, whether as adefensive technique against an individualattack or a counterattack to theadversary.

1.) In a jab attack, we have severalpossibilities for defense, but only two aremore functional and effective. The first oneis to exit from the external line of attackwith a wedge, that is, putting the arms at a45 angle, entering the line of attack, usingthe Dumog technique on the adversary's

forearm or on his external biceps, pressingand pushing or pulling (Pression withPush and Pull), in order to put him off-balance, then applying elements such asknee, elbow blow or chain fist.

The second defense, always on a Jab,is internal. We also perform the 45wedge to attack the internal biceps orthe head (more exactly to the neck).Four types of Dumog will be performedon the neck, depending on ouradversary's resistance with the neck.

2.) Faced with a hook attack, we havetwo possible defenses. The first one isto close the arms in a triangle, theninclude several Dumog techniques. Thesecond possibility is to put our arms at45 , making the opponent's attackdisappear and entering again into ourline of attack, holding his arm or neck, applying the different Dumog techniquesand elements as the head blow, thechain fist or the Palm Streik on the face, always depending on our evaluation of

the situation.3.) Faced with a cross attack, the most

simple and effective way is to form atriangle with our arms, entering at 45,putting pressure on the adversary'sarms. Then we wil l be able toautomatically control him better, eitherholding his back or his arm, alwaysperforming the Dumog technique, aiming to end the fight on the ground, controlling his body or including fatalelements, such as knee, head or elbowblow, or including just Dumog, so to

move the body from an _A_ point to a_B_ point, creating a space to escape.

4.) Faced with a chain fist attack at along distance, there are 12 defensetechniques. These 12 moves allow us togo into our line of attack and end orcontrol. There are also 6 defensetechniques, in the event that ouradversary counter-attacks. All this mustbe practiced in an effective way, eitheroffensive or defensive, always fluentlyand explosively.

In the streets, the quickest goal is sim-plicity, the simplicity of movements revealsthe true essence of combat

    OLIVA Professional Fighting System

    (O.P.F.-System)

It is an effective fight system, aimed at th

special forces and law enforcement and als

adapted for civilian use. Its techniques ar

based on the simplicity and logic, and resu

in an easy and effective defensive strategy.

The _O.P.F-System_ is a professional system

in constant development, focused on the pur

and hard street fight. This system teaches uto learn to manage stress, to contro

    situations under heavy psychologica

pressure. It is not just another system base

on tradition, but a sophisticated system t

learn in a short time, to be effective i

combat. Its secrets are based specifically o

the body's natural reflexes and in coverin

    the four combat distances.
