Hello to all My Friends,We have a busy summer planned and I hope you can join us! I hope you had the opportunity to see the charming bears that were sewn at the BEAR-NINA Sew-In. It was not only a fun day but we were able to help others with these adorable bears. Thank you to all the sewers who attended the two Sew-Days. I have scheduled another BEAR-NINA Sew-Day, Saturday, June 24.

Our summer will be filled with new BERNINA Events and summer quilt programs. BERNINA Block Party, a block of the month by BERNINA, Quilter’s Patch, Sweetie Pie are just a few of our BOM. Stitchin’ Time will be held in May, June, July and August, Lynda will help anyone who needs additional instructions with the BERNINA Block Party.

Our shop will be participating in Row by Row and we will again do our “Summer 2017 Block of the Week”, Summer Block Party, both starting in June. There are NEW classes for you to take, from quilts to new tools to use. New quilting rulers are the latest to help you with your free motion quilting. Kathy Harris will be teaching a class this summer introducing the rulers to you.

In July the entire Sewing Room staff including the techs will be attending BU (Bernina University) in Las Vegas, July 10–14. You will still be able to pick-up and drop off your sewing machine while we are

at BU but all others questions will have to wait until we return, Saturday, July 15. And yes, we are going to learn with a bit fun too, can’t wait!

Exciting news, I am bringing back an event we haven’t done for several years, Christmas in July. We are going to call it our “Peppermint Party”. We will have demos, holiday projects to make, kits to purchase, treats to eat and lots of fun, so reserve the date, Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Summer Block of the Week 2017“Summer Block Party”

Are you ready to start our summer Block of the Week? We select a different type of quilt each summer and I think you will agree this year’s is totally different from “Green Tea and Sweet Beans”.You would normally pick up your fabric kit starting the first Monday of each week in June, July and August.This year we will have a Special Kick-Off Day, Saturday, June 3, 2017. We will explain the rules and cost. You can pick up the first fabric kit at the meeting. All other kits will be given out starting the first Monday of each week ending on the week of August 28.We will have a Special Kick-Off Day, Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 10:30-11:00, Carol will go over the rules for Summer Block Party 2017. Kit #1, bonus pattern and rules will be available at this meeting. All other kits will be available from the 1st Monday of each week. “Peppermint Party”Start your Holiday projects with us! We’ll have project, kits, demos and lots of ideas to get you in the holiday mood. We talk about starting our holiday projects early, but the trick is to “actually start”.We will provide you with ideas, kits, patterns and fabric. Why not bring your projects to Stitchin’ Time and start sewing. The Quilt Basket will have lots of Christmas fabrics to make your Holiday table runner, placemats, wall hanging and so many other great projects. Classes Seven day cancellation policySeven day cancellation policy for paid or free classes: For a refund on any paid class, you must cancel seven days prior to your class. For example, if your class is on Saturday, you must cancel by the previous Saturday. FREE classes including the Mastery classes have the SAME cancellation policy; you must cancel 7 days in advance. Women of yesteryear used baskets for all their everyday chores: for gathering eggs from the chicken coop or flowers from the garden or clothes from the line. A basket accompanied them to market; another was by their chair as they stitched. Each basket had a different style and shape based on its function.Each block of this year’s quilt will feature a different basket surrounded by or filled with the things that make that basket unique. Row by Row, 2017 “On the Go!” June 21-September 5, 2017You may be asking what is Row by Row. It is similar to a shop hop, visit any of the participating shop in the United States and Canada and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your collected free patterns and create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer.

Create a quilt using at least 8 different 2017 rows from 8 different 2017 participating Row by Row shops and be the first to bring it into a participating shop to win a stack of 25 fat quarters (6¼ yards of fabric). Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize!

HOW TO REGISTER FOR CLASSESYou may pre–register for classes either at the shop or by mail. Phone registration may be made with either Visa or MasterCard. If you would like us to mail your receipt and supply list, include a self–addressed stamped envelope.

Seven day cancellation policyMany of our clubs and classes have a class fee or they are free if you have purchased your sewing machine or software from us. All our classes require you to cancel seven day prior to your class for a refund. For example, if your class is on a Saturday, you must cancel by the previous Saturday. The “seven day cancellation” includes all free classes that require pre–registration. We do require pre–registration on some of our free classes; an example is our mastery class and Embroidery Club. The pre–registration helps the instructor prepare for the class. The Sewing Room policy on mastery class is; your scheduled mastery class continues whether there is one or five in the class, you do not have to worry about cancellation due to the number of students in the class.

Refundable cancellation policyClasses that ask for a refundable deposit must be in cash or check. To receive your refund you must attend the class or cancel two days prior to the class, e.g. a Saturday class must be cancelled by Wednesday.
