    13ERTICO - ITS Europe

  • Cooperative Mobility Systems and Services for Energy EfficiencyObjectives

To develop a combination of cooperative systems and

tools using V2V and V2I communication to help:

    • drivers sustainably eliminate unnecessary fuel consumption,• fleet managers manage their vehicles more economically and

promote eco-driving through feedback & incentives,

    • road operators balance traffic flows in the most energy efficient way.

Target is to reduce up to 20% fuel consumption and therefore CO2 emission

  • Cooperative Mobility Systems and Services for Energy EfficiencyVision and motivation

    Wasted energy due to:

    - Inefficient deceleration- Wrong gear & engine speed- Excessive speed, acceleration- Poor anticipation- Congestion- Poorly synchronised signals

    eCoMove benefit

    EnergyeCoMove Solutions

    ecoSmartDriving

    ecoFreight & Logistics

    The futureSituation today

    - Poorly synchronised signals- Choice of inefficient route- Lack of know-how, motivation

  • First interoperability test event proving European interoperability

» High level of interoperability between participating partners’ equipment was proven.

    » Mainly communication channel

    15 equipment suppliers:• Siemens • Peek Traffic,• NEC, • Q-Free, • Cohda Wireless, • DENSO,• Hitachi, » Mainly communication channel

interoperability was tested. No application tests were performed.

» The event was co-organised by ERTICO and ETSI

    • Hitachi, • HONDA R&D, ITRI, NORDSYS, NXP Semiconductors, Qatar University QSTP B, Vector Informatik, VTT, CTAG

  • ERTICO – ETSI cooperation

› The initial Memorandum of Understanding was signed in February 2009.

› ERTICO and ETSI collaborate at different levels:› ITS standardization› Interoperability testing

› Jointly organized the 1st ITS Plugtests in November 2011 at TNO in Helmond.2011 at TNO in Helmond.

› 3 Plugtests events planned so far in the 1st half of 2012

› The MoU will be renewed in 2012 with an enhanced scope:› A wider range of technical committees mapped with additional projects at ERTICO

› Collaboration for the communication at ITS congresses
