ST. JOSEPH’S FEAST: MARCH 19

On Friday, March 19th we plan to celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph, our patron Saint. The Solemn Mass will be in the Upper Church at 7 pm.

We are in need of volunteers to help in this feast. If you are able to help, please talk to one of the priests at the end of Mass or call the office. Thanks for your collaboration!

Dear brothers and sisters, We are already celebrating the Fourth Sunday of Lent, also known as Laetare Sunday, which means rejoice! Today the Church expresses hope and joy in the midst of our Lenten fasts and penances. Why? Because the joy of Easter is getting closer! The sun is rising, eve-rything begins to receive a new light! For the Easter Triduum we have decided to offer you the opportunity to come and celebrate, despite of the restrictions. MARCH 14 ~ FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT

Today’s readings remind us of the extent of God’s love. “God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions [sins], brought us to life with Christ — by grace you have been saved.” God’s vast inclusive love excludes no one! St Augustine puts this truth this way: "God loves each one of us as if there was only one of us to love." As Lent continues, take a few minutes to ponder God’s all-inclusive love for you. How you will respond to that love?

"Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por el gran amor que tenía por nosotros, incluso cuando estábamos muertos en nuestras transgresiones [pecados], nos trajo a la vida con Cristo; por gracia hemos sido salvados". ¡El inmenso amor inclusivo de Dios no excluye a nadie! San Agustín expresa esta verdad de esta mane-ra: "Dios nos ama a cada uno de nosotros como si solo hubiera uno a quien amar". Mientras continúa la Cuaresma, tómate unos minutos para reflexionar sobre el amor que todo lo incluye de Dios por ti. ¿Cómo responderás a ese amor?

LENT GUIDELINES

-FASTING - is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, suffi-cient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices, are allowed. -ABSTINENCE is observed by all 14 years of age and old-er. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige.
