DETAILS OF BUSINESS PRESENATION
Evaluation Type: Group Presentation
Dates: 16 24 December
Duration: Each group is required to make a presentation of 12-15 minutes. All
presentations will be video recorded by the institute.
Theme:
Interview some people of a different culture.
Each group must attempt to take up a different culture. Each interview needs to be video recorded. (you could do so on your mobiles
after the permission of the interviewee)
Snap, e-mail ID and contact details of the interviewee while in Lucknow must be
provided.
Groups that interview people who would be in Lucknow at the time of
presentations, (so that we could invite them during presentations) will be given
some benefit.
Based on the details given below, groups must have a ready questionnaire beforethey go for the interview.
You must cover details on following:
1. Attire: How do they dress for what occasionSpecial colors that should not be worn on a specific occasion.
2. Business Attire
3. Food Habits: What are the common food items they eat?o Is their something that their culture does not allow them to eat? Why?
4. Dining etiquettes:Seating - is there a protocol as to who sits
where? Should one wait to be seated? Is it acceptable etiquette formen/women to sit next to one another?
Eating - what utensils, if any, are used? Is it a knife and fork, hands or chopsticks? Is
there any etiquette around using them?
Body language - how should one sit? Is it bad etiquette to rest elbows on the table? If
seated on the floor what is the correct position? Conversation - is the meal the proper place to engage in conversation? If so, is
discussing business appropriate? The food - what foods are common to eat? Is it good etiquette to compliment the cook
and how? Does one finish everything on the plate? Is it polite to ask for more?
Home/restaurant - what differences in etiquette or protocol would there be? Does onetake a gift to the home? Who pays the bill at a restaurant?

8. Body Languagein terms of: Eye Contact, Handshakes, use ofhands, Greetings, Personal Space, Touching, Small Talk topics,
Gestures and following symbols:
o Beckoning with index finger
o Pointing at something in the room using index finger
o Making a "V" sign
o Smiling
o Sitting with sole of feet or shoe showing
o Forming a circle with fingers to indicate O.K
o Patting somebody on the head

o Passing an item to someone with one hand
o Waving hand with palm facing outward to greet someone
o Nodding head up and down to say Yes
