Introduction

TheBoardofDirectorsofACCNationalCapitalRegionispleasedtopresentthechapter’s2018SponsorshipProgram.ACCNCRistheregionalbarassociationforin-housecounsel,servingthecompanies,non-profits,andotherprivate-sectororganizationsintheDistrictofColumbia,theCommonwealthofVirginia,andsuburbanMaryland.Withapproximately2,500membersfrommorethan800corporationsandotherprivate-sectororganizations,ACCNCRisamongthelargestchaptersoftheglobalAssociationofCorporateCounsel(ACC).ACCNCRprovidesvitalprofessionalservicestoavibrantin-housebarandisveryproudtobethepremierproviderofcontinuinglegaleducationandnetworkingopportunitiesforthein-houselegalcommunityinourregion.Annually,weoffer80-pluseducationalprogramsthatprovidein-housecounselwiththetoolstheyneedtoadvisetheirclients,andtodotheirjobsbetterandsmarter.ACCNCRiscommittedtohelpitsmembersreachtheircareerandprofessionaldevelopmentgoals.Eachyear,ourscheduleincludesnumerousprogramsthataddressthefutureofin-housepractice,in-house/outsidecounselrelations,andtheleadershipskillsin-housecounselneedtoworkeffectivelywiththeirbusiness-sideclients.In2017,ACCNCRlauncheditsLeadershipAcademy–anine-monthcohortprogramdesignedtoteachtheparticipatingFellowstheskillsandcompetenciestheyneedtobecomemorevaluedbyandvaluabletotheirorganizations.TheAppendicestothisdocumentlistACCNCR’s2017volunteerleadersandanillustrativelistofCLEandcareerdevelopmentprogramspresentedbythechapterinJanuary–July2017.The2018ACCNCRSponsorshipProgramprovideswaysforyourfirmorcompanytoeffectivelyworkwithACCNCRonourmanyprograms,events,andinitiatives.TheProgramservesbothACCNCR’sneedsforsponsorshipsupportandoursponsors’interestinhavingstrongvisibilitywithourmembership.

Featuresofthe2018SponsorshipProgram

The2018SponsorshipProgramhasavarietyoflevelsofannualsponsorships,eachofwhichprovidesarobustbundleofbenefitswithexcellentvisibilityforsponsors.Detailsaboutthesponsorshiplevelsandthebenefitsassociatedwitheachlevelareprovidedatpages6-14.Explanationsofthebenefitscanbefoundstartingatpage15.Thefeaturesofthisyear’sSponsorshipProgramarethesameasin2017’sprogram.Thetiersandbenefitsassociatedwiththemhavenotchanged.WewillcontinuetopexplorenewwaystoensuresponsorsaregettingROIfortheirsupport.Thereisamodestpriceincreaseinsomeofthelevels.Thisyear’sSponsorshipProgramincludesnewopportunitiesspecificallyconnectedwiththeLeadershipAcademy.WehavetwoopportunitiesforfirmstobeAcademy“Champions,”andsixopportunitiesforsponsorsatotherlevelstoaddonanAcademy“Host”sponsorship.

Givenourstatusasaleadingregionalin-housebarassociation,webelievethatoursponsorshipsoffergreatvalueandthatwearethe“bestdealintown”forconnectingwithin-housecounselinourservicearea.

SponsorshipProgramGeneralProvisionsThetermofanannualsponsorshipunderthe2018ProgramisfromJanuary1,2018,throughDecember31,2018.

AllprospectivesponsorsmustcompletetheSponsorshipApplicationForm.Bycompletingandsubmittingtheapplicationform,yourepresentthat:(1)Youhavecarefullyreviewedandfullyunderstandthetermsandprovisionsofthe2018ACCNCRSponsorshipProgramandthatyouarecommittedtoworkingwithintheProgramanditsrequirements,specificallytheACCNCRSponsorGuidelines(foundatAppendix3tothisdocument);(2)Youareauthorizedtosubmitthesponsorapplicationformonbehalfofthesponsorapplicant;and(3)YouwillpaythesponsorshipfeetoACCNCRbytheapplicabledeadline.PaymentinfullofthesponsorshipfeemustthenbereceivedbyJanuary31,2018,orwithinthirty(30)daysofreceiptofnotificationofthesponsorshipawardandaninvoiceforthefee,whicheveroccurslater,unlessotherarrangementsaremadewiththeACCNCRExecutiveDirector.Failuretopayinatimelyfashionwillresultinimmediatecancellationofthesponsorshipandforfeitureofallsponsorshipbenefits.Thesponsorshipthenwillbereassignedtoanotherinterestedsponsor.Pleasenotethatsponsorshipfeesarenotrefundable.

SponsorSelectionCriteriaACCNCRhasbeenveryfortunatetoworkwithsponsorsthataretruecontributorstooureffortstobethepremierprofessionalresourceforourmembers.Wegreatlyvalueoursponsors’dedicationtohelpingusachieveourmission.Inselectingsponsorsandassigningsponsorshiplevelsfor2018,ACCNCRwill:

1. 2. ACCNCRworkscooperativelywithitssponsorstodevelopandrefineCLEtopics.a. AllCLEtopicswillbereviewedbyanACCNCRvolunteerleaderandstaffmemberfor

thesubject,content,andexpertisedemonstratedtoensureitisrelevantandofinteresttoourmembers.

ProgramsLogistics:

1. SchedulingofallprogramswilltakeplacethroughACCNCRstaff.Onceyourprogramisscheduled,youwillworkwithACCNCRstaffonalllogistics.

b. IfyourofficeisnotthebestplacetoholdtheCLEprogram,ACCNCRwillarrangeand/orbookanothervenue.Inthatcase,ACCNCRwillcontractforthespaceandarrangeappropriatecatering,audio/visualtechnologyandsupport,etc.Nosponsorshouldmakebookingarrangements,unlesspreviouslyapprovedbyACCNCR

sponsor,theadmissionfeeforthatattendeewillbewaivedorarrangementswillbemadetobillthesponsorforthefee,providedthatattendeeregistersasa“GuestofPresenter.”

4. ACCNCRreservestherighttocancel,changetimes,modifyallaspectsofthe

programming,includingvenue,forreasonsofweatherorotherexigentcircumstances.Intheeventofavenue-drivencancellationorchange,ACCNCRreservestherighttorescheduletheprogram.Generally,ACCNCRmakeseveryefforttoensurethattheshowwillgoon.

5. If,afteraCLEisscheduled,asponsor’sspeakerisunabletoparticipateinthatCLE,for

whateverreason,weexpectthatanotherqualifiedindividualfromthesponsorwillfillinforthatperson.Otherwise,ACCNCRmaybeabletofindareplacementspeakerforthatCLEevent.CLEeventswillnotnecessarilybecanceledjustbecauseaspeakerwithdraws.

4. Attendancebysponsorpersonnel,beyondtheallottednumberofinvitees(ifany),isnotpermitted.Withtheexceptionofsignatureluncheonprograms,sponsorsmaynotattendCLEsthattheyarenotorganizing/presenting,unlesstheirattendanceisapprovedinadvancebyACCNCR.

5. ACCNCRreservestherighttorefuseanysponsor,aswellastherighttorestrictorremove

anypresentationorexhibitthat,intheopinionofACCNCR,detractsfromthegeneralcharacterofaprogramorevent.Thisreservationappliestodisplays,printedmatter,

promotionalmaterials,inappropriateconduct,andmethodofoperation.Intheeventofsuchrestrictions,ACCNCRwillnotbeliableforanyrefundsorotherprogramexpenses.

6. AsdeterminedbytheBoardofDirectors,failuretocomplywithanyprovisionofthe

SponsorGuidelinesmayleadto:

a. Warningtothesponsor;and/or

b. Sponsorshipterminationandforfeitureofallfeespaidbythesponsor.
