Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor
movement and is dedicated to the social and economic
achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national
tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength,
prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Labor Day is a day of rest or the last chance for many people to go
on trips before the summer ends. For students, it is the last chance
to organize parties before school starts again. In some
neighborhoods, people organize fireworks displays, barbecues and
public arts or sports events. The football season starts on or around
Labor Day and many teams play their first game of the year during
Labor Day weekend.
A Message from the President.....
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As the summer draws to an end, I wanted to take the
time in this message to acknowledge all those who have contributed to making it
successful. When we adopted our new Bingo program, none of us expected to have
the success that we have enjoyed this summer. In fact, we anticipated small
turnouts due to the absence of our northern friends who return home in the
summer. The exact opposite has happened. We are averaging $80.00 per week in
food sales with a food cost of approximately 25%. In addition, as of July 31, we
have returned over $600.00 back into the RIF fund and anticipate having the
entire amount returned by April/May of 2016.
The “profit” that we are realizing is all being returned to the community for the
benefit of our residents. For example, August 23rd was our Summer Pool Party
and featured live music, bar-b-que chicken, bar-b-que ribs, games and prizes and
it was all FREE for our residents. We also have a Halloween party being planned
this year as well as our usual fall events.
There are many people I would like to thank for helping out with Bingo, but
especially Richard and Carol Gould (and their team of helpers) for their continued
support and running the “technical” side of the games. I would also like to thank
Joyce and Hacy Wright for helping Joice and I with the sale of hot dogs, drinks
and desserts. Most importantly, I would like to thank all those bakers who have
generously provided us with desserts to offer our Bingo players as this is all
“profit”. I especially want to thank my wife, Joice who unselfishly has baked
every single week so that we could offer our players fresh homemade desserts.
Finally, to those who have offered to be the “Gate Keepers” from 5:00-6:30 every
Wednesday night so that only those outside individuals who are here to play Bingo
are allowed into the park, a big “Thank You”.
We look forward to our returning friends and I invite you to spend Wednesday
night with us at Bingo.

Walter Paulovske
Are you looking for a fishing buddy? How about one who carries a pipe along with his pole and bait, just in case an alligator makes a lunge for the dock?! Walter Paulovske enjoys the sport and has a wall mounted fish from Lake Hammock on his wall. His walls are also adorned with over 20 cross stitch pieces done by his wife Caroline. Walter has a distinguished military career having served in France, Belgium and Germany. He has a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his valor. Walter still drives the Buick Regal Limited they drove to Florida from Connecticut in the early 1990's. Walter and Caroline lived in Mulberry when they stopped by Lake Hammock one day. They liked it well enough to move here in 1994. He recalls paying $139 lot rent. There were no houses on Reineke or Sargent. He has an extensive collection of around 400 pencil sharpeners. His favorites are the metal ones that have some type of mechanical action. Walter is very active and enjoys playing pool, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Let's get to know our neighbors.

Richard & Deborah Bialecki
Richard and Deborah Bialecki came from Buffalo-
Niagara area in New York in 2013 looking at other
parks and found Lake Hammock Village. They
moved in January 2015. Rich was working for
Interstate Batteries and retired December 31,
2014. He came done without Deb and started
cleaning things in their home on 6 Silvercrest. In
June 2015, Deb joined Rich at Lake Hammock,
bringing the furniture with her.
Rich and Deb have two children, a boy and a girl.
They moved here to be close to a nephew and
family.
They like shuffleboard now and would like to be
involved in more things. Rich will be looking for a
part time job to keep him busy.
When you see Rich and Deb and their little dog on
the golf cart, introduce yourself and make them
feel at home.

Volunteer of the Year
Friends and Neighbors,
The HOA is initiating a new program designed to recognize a Lake Hammock
Village resident as the annual “Volunteer of the Year”. The winner of this
prestigious award will be recognized at the December General Membership
Meeting with his/her name forever engraved on a perpetual plaque, a gift
certificate, and free admission for his/her significant other to all ticketed
events in 2016. When considering who you would like to nominate, please
consider that the individual should be someone who is always at the ready to
assist with hosting, assist others as needed and is always ready when called
upon to insure the success of the HOA and Lake Hammock Village activities.
From the period September 1 thru October 31, a nomination box will be
placed in the clubhouse for deposit of nominee’s names. At the Board of
Director's meeting on the 1st Tuesday in November, the names will be
narrowed to a list of four. These four names will then be presented to the
HOA membership at the November General Membership Meeting. A box
will then be placed in the clubhouse for voting on these four names. At the
Board of Director's December meeting, the winner will be named, but not
recognized until presented to the general membership at the December
General Membership Meeting.
Note: Active Board of Directors members are NOT eligible for consideration!!!
