What do we have in common: Our Humanity and our Planet Hang in the Balance. The

social fabric of our Humanity is experiencing catastrophic and dramatic changes on a

global scale.People around the World are being Displaced

and Exploited due to the rampant efforts to harness the Earth’s Natural Resources.

It is dangerous when the elite create laws for the deprived.

Do I believe the media coverage about border issues that occur along the border between the U.S. and Mexico affect the perception of immigrants?

› Absolutely, yes….the media serves those who can afford to mass market their ideologies and agenda. The U.S. media does not represent the minority, underserved, marginalized or institutionalized voices that cry in the night for someone to hear and heed their call for all the injustices.

› 2010 was an election year, and immigration are polarizing issues that serve the extreme righteous (ignorant).

› Fear Controls Absolutely “False Evidence Altering Reality”5

Do I think the media coverage has influenced these policies?

› Again, if the immigrant had a platform from which to raise their voices, their experiences would shed light on the many social, ecologic and economic injustices they experience.

› Media feeds the negative perceptions that immigrants are either criminals or terrorists. is media hype on a grand scale.

› Borderland ranchers, minutemen, border patrol, national guard were all called to create a militarized Border (Silent War).

› Let us put this into perspective “Xenophobia”, the hate word. › People of color are targets; it matters not if you’re indigenous the

region with documentation to prove it.› Historically Arizona has been known for marginalizing people of color. 6
