For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea," and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says”-Mk 11:23 T he word of God is a decree. A decree has been defined as an official order issued by a legal authority. Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways”. As you pronounce the word of God, it shall be honored in Jesus name. We are not only to read and hear the Word, but we must also speak the Word. Faith is released by the words that we speak. It is a confession of faith and what- ever we confess will ultimately control our lives. Brethren, the word of God has a dominating power, but it is regrettable that many believers are under utilizing the spoken word. We don’t speak the word as often as we ought to. The power of God is in His word (1Cor. 1:18), and we can access that power when we speak the word. Our Heavenly Father demonstrated this Himself. The scripture says that the earth was without form and void, with darkness on its face, and God said, “Let there be light, and there was light” (Gen. 1:3). Therefore, when you speak the word, you are speaking life. Remember that the power of life and death lies in the tongue (Prov. 18:21). Also, our Lord Jesus did not argue with the devil during His time of temptation. He simply accessed the power in God’s word, by saying, “It is written” (Matt. 4:3- 8). The devil is a harasser and a bully that specializes in exploiting us at our times of greatest weakness. We need to resist him by saying, it is written and he will flee (Jam.4:7). In addition, we need to vocalize the word just as God did in the creation over the challenges of our lives. God instructed prophet Ezekiel to prophesy to the dry bones so that they may hear the word of the Lord (Ezek.37:4), and as Ezekiel spoke the word to the hearing of the dry bones, dryness gave way to life. The disciples of Jesus were being harassed by a great storm, and Jesus, awoken from sleep, rebuked the wind and said, “Peace, be still”, the wind ceased and there was a great calm (Mk.4:39). “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this

mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea,"

and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that

those things he says will be done, he will have

whatever he says”-Mk 11:23

T he word of God is a decree. A decree has

been defined as an official order issued by

a legal authority. Job 22:28 says, “Thou

shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be

established unto thee: and the light shall shine

upon thy ways”. As you pronounce the word of

God, it shall be honored in Jesus name. We are not

only to read and hear the Word, but we must also

speak the Word. Faith is released by the words

that we speak. It is a confession of faith and what-

ever we confess will ultimately control our lives.

Brethren, the word of God has a dominating

power, but it is regrettable that many believers are

under utilizing the spoken word. We don’t speak

the word as often as we ought to. The power of

God is in His word (1Cor. 1:18), and we can

access that power when we speak the word. Our

Heavenly Father demonstrated this Himself. The

scripture says that the earth was without form and

void, with darkness on its face, and God said, “Let

there be light, and there was light” (Gen. 1:3). On

each of the six days of creation, God spoke, and

dramatic creation events occurred. Beloved, there

is power in the spoken word, and you should culti-

vate the habit of speaking the word over your life.

In 1Kings 17:1, Elijah proclaimed a drought over

a nation according to his word and the

proclamation was honored. How much more when

we speak the word of life (John 6:63)? Therefore,

when you speak the word, you are speaking life.

Remember that the power of life and death lies in

the tongue (Prov. 18:21). Also, our Lord Jesus did

not argue with the devil during His time of

temptation. He simply accessed the power in

God’s word, by saying, “It is written” (Matt. 4:3-

8). The devil is a harasser and a bully that

specializes in exploiting us at our times of greatest

weakness. We need to resist him by saying, it is

written and he will flee (Jam.4:7).

In addition, we need to vocalize the word just as

God did in the creation over the challenges of our

lives. God instructed prophet Ezekiel to prophesy

to the dry bones so that they may hear the word of

the Lord (Ezek.37:4), and as Ezekiel spoke the

word to the hearing of the dry bones, dryness gave

way to life. The disciples of Jesus were being

harassed by a great storm, and Jesus, awoken from

sleep, rebuked the wind and said, “Peace, be still”,

the wind ceased and there was a great calm

(Mk.4:39). The Shunammite woman keeps

confessing that all is well, although her only son

had died, and the dead son came back to life.

She reconditioned the dead situation with the word of God. As you challenge that

unpalatable situation by speaking the word of God, not allowing the situation to dic-

tate to you, you will see result and there will be calmness to every storm in your life in

Jesus name.

Our Lord Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard

Me, and I know that You always hear Me” (John 11:41-42), and He cried with a loud

voice that Lazarus should come forth. The dead heard His voice. Also, Peter decreed

to the lame man at the beautiful gate that in the name of Jesus, he should rise and

walk. The situation that predates the man’s birth heard God’s word and the man

walked. The word of God is powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword

(Heb.4:12) and as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there,

but water the earth, so is the Word of God that goes out your mouth. It will not return

to you void, but rather, it shall accomplish what you please, and it shall prosper in the

thing for which you sent it in Jesus name (Isa.55:10-11).

However, for you to speak the word, it means you must know the word. Not only that,

you must be a doer of the word. You must not be like the seven sons of Sceva who

tried casting out evil spirits without having the spiritual authority (Acts 19:13-17). For

you to have the spiritual authority of the word of God, you must be redeemed by the

blood of Jesus (Eph. 1:7).

In recapitulation, God said, as you have spoken in my ears, so I will do to you

(Num.14:28). Brother Paul said, “I believe, therefore, I have spoken” (2Cor.4:13).

God spoke, and the universe came into existence. He spoke through Moses, and the

Red Sea parted. Jesus spoke; the lepers were made clean, Lazarus rose from the dead,

water turned into wine, and multitudes were fed. As you speak the word of God this

season, every activity of Pharaoh in your life will cease and God will plunder Egypt

for your sake in Jesus name (Ezek.29:18-21), AMEN!!!

1. O God, our help in ages past,

our hope for years to come,

our shelter from the stormy blast,

and our eternal home.

2. Under the shadow of thy throne,

still may we dwell secure;

sufficient is thine arm alone,

and our defense is sure.

3. Before the hills in order stood,

or earth received her frame,

from everlasting, thou art God,

to endless years the same.

4. A thousand ages, in thy sight,

are like an evening gone;

short as the watch that ends the night,

before the rising sun.

5. Time, like an ever rolling stream,

bears all who breathe away;

they fly forgotten, as a dream

dies at the opening day.

6. O God, our help in ages past,

our hope for years to come;

be thou our guide while life shall last,

and our eternal home.
