We are all part of God's vine and are rooted in His rich soil. We are nurtured and supported so that we may grow and spread out into the world to love and to serve. Home Learning Guidelines: Use the grid below to help structure your child’s home learning. We would encourage children to complete at least 2 activities from each column and record their learning experience in their challenge book. This could be done in a variety of ways. For example, writing a few sentences about what they learnt, drawing a picture, sticking in a photograph, completing a thought bubble etc. To support your child at home with reading we ask that your child reads at least 4 times a week. Remember there are lots of resources to support reading on our website. There is no expectation that your child completes the home learning challenges if they are unwell or if circumstances at home are such that the completion of the tasks cause unnecessary stress and anxiety to the household.

EXT – Create a list of nouns in your book. Write them in your best, joined up handwriting.

Hand print and foot print pictures.

Have a look at the animal pictures below. You can make loads of really awesome animal pictures using your hands and feet.

You don’t have to use paint, you can draw around your hand or feet, then add the detail and colour in.

Task: Create an army of foot/hand print animals.

EXT – can you design your own animal using your hand or foot print?

A GIANT you!

Today, I would like you draw around yourself either on paper (if you have paper large enough) or using chalks outside. If you have a plastic table cloth, you could use that and felt tip pens too.

If size is an issue, draw a human outline in your book and work from there.

Task:Draw around your or someone else’s body. How many body parts can you label?

If you want to add more detail, you can watch this BBC video to add more information about organs.https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zswn39q

EXT – add bones, muscles and veins/arteries.

Write a prayer

After we celebrate Easter where Jesus died and rose from the dead, we wait 40 days until Jesus goes to heaven. In those 40 days, Jesus visits lots of different people with different messages of hope and forgiveness.

Think about hope and thankfulness. Why are they so important right now?

What or who do we hope for? Who or what are we thankful for?

Task:

Write a prayer or a letter explaining who or what you are hopeful and thankful for.

A pictogram is a chart that uses pictures to represent data. Pictograms are set out in the same way as bar charts, but instead of bars they use columns of pictures to show the numbers involved.

The key shows that the picture of a cake is the same as 2 cakes.
