ISOLINESTANDARD MAGNESIUM ANODES 1.1.1

Standard Magnesium Anodes

Magnesium Anodes are used to apply CathodicProtection to a variety of structures. To provide awide selection they are manufactured in acomprehensive range of shapes and sizes. Themagnesium is available in two grades, BACISOROD, high purity and BAC ISOMAGThe latterare primarily for use in high resistivity soils.

Performance can be improved by retainingmoisture thus reducing the resistivity of theelectrolyte local to the anode. To help do this,

pipeline anodes can be supplied packaged in acotton bag containing a backfill of Gypsum,Bentonite and Sodium Sulphate. Alternatively thebackfill can be provided loose, in a variety ofcompositions, for site application.

Standard Backfill Composition:Powdered Gypsum 75%Granular Bentonite 20%Sodium Sulphate 5%

The anode and backfill are contained in a cottonbag.
