    Day 1: Washington Dulles / Salvador

    Depart the US for your overnight flight to Sao Paulo with connection to Salvador, Bahia.

    Day 2: Salvador Upon your arrival in Salvador, you are assisted with luggage and transferred to your hotel, Afternoon sightseeing visit the African- Brazilian Museum, which traces the West African origins of the city, and see the superb wooden sculpted panels of the orix's by Salvador's most celebrated artist, Caryb, one of the citys treasures. Proceed to a local restaurant for a traditional Bahian-cuisine dinner. From the restaurant is a short walk to the nearby intimate Miguel Santana Theatre where the Bal Folclrico da Bahia Company performs a seamless presentation of the multiple African traditions that underpin Bahian culture where the following dances are featured:

    Dances of the Candombl orixs (deities)

    Puxada de rede, a song by fishermen in

    honor of Yemanj, the goddess of the sea;

    Maculel, an acrobatic stick and sword

    dance with its origins in the cane fields;

    Capoeira the spectacular and exhilarating

    martial art/dance;

    Samba de roda, the grande finale, the spinning, swirling version of this exuberant national dance. Dinner and

    Day 3: Salvador Full Day Tour of Salvador with private guide and motor coach. Some of the highlights are; Pelurinho, a Unesco Heritage site, National Museum of African Brazilian Culture, The Church of Sao Francisco, Pelourinho Black Church, Lunch at Mama Bahaia Restaurant. After Lunch we visit Casa Branca (Candomble Worship House) Dinner at Pelourinho Special Event. Pelo by Night. Geronimo Concert. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

    Day 4: Salvador Schooner Excursion Full day motorized Schooner Excursion. Stopping at Ponta da Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe beach.

    Ample time for beach activities. Breakfast, lunch

    Day 5 Salvador Day at leisure to enjoy Salvador

    on your own. Breakfast.

    Day 6: Salvador Full day tour to Cachoeira and Sisterhood of Boa Morte. Sites of interest include the Country Market in Santo Amaro. We go to another Unesco World Heritage site and the jewel of the Bahian hinterland nestled in the deep valley of the Paraguau River. Today you will mingle with member of the soriety sisterhood of the Boa Morte. Breakfast and Lunch.

    Day 7: Salvador, Rio de Janeiro Transfer to the airport for flight to Rio de Janeiro, also known as the Marvelous City. In a couple of hours walk to the restaurant where you are having dinner tonight. Breakfast and Dinner

    Day 8: Rio de Janeiro Full day tour Corcovado & Sugar Loaf. In the morning depart for your Corcovado Tour: The visit starts at Rios most famous site: Corcovado Mountain where the statue of Christ the Redeemer; see the spectacular 360 degree panoramic view of the entire city. Then we go downtown Rio; the area where the city was born and still keep its early history. Take 2 cable cars to get to the summit of the mountain, where you will find out, why Rio carries the nick name of Marvelous city. Break-fast and Lunch.

    Day 9: Rio de Janeiro Today is the Black Consciousness Day. Day at leisure to enjoy the city on own and shopping.

    Celebrate like a native!! Every Monday, the cariocas, as the natives of Rio are called, gather in Pedra do Sal, the first black neighborhood of Rio, to sing, dance and drink. Breakfast and Dinner.

    Day 10/11: Rio de Janeiro / Return Home. Morning at leisure. Transfer to airport to board your overnight flight back home. Breakfast.

    AIR TRANSPORTATION:

    Roundtrip economy class out of Washington Dulles. Current airfares used and subject to change without. Once airline tickets are issued they are non-refundable. Airline schedule may change without notice. Please note that fuel surcharges and departure taxes are implemented by the airlines and are subject to increases. Any such increases shall be borne by the passenger at the time of ticketing, even if paid in full. Air-

    HOTELS: Superior First class hotels are included and are priced on the basis of two persons sharing twin-bedded room with private bath and

    shower.

    MEALS: See Itinerary.

    SIGHTSEEING: As per program with fully licensed, English speaking guides. The right is reserved to vary the sequence of the tour or to make substitutions, if necessary. All transfers and sightseeing by

    private, deluxe motor coach.

    TAXES: Hotel taxes are included as well as departure taxes and/or fuel surcharges. If the departure taxes and fuel surcharges are increased by the airlines, any such increases shall be borne by the passenger even if paid in full at the time of

    ticketing.

    GRATUITIES: All tipping to guides, drivers, and for meal

    service are included.

    T R A N S F E R S / B A G G A G E : Included is the transfer of passenger baggage allowance limited by the airlines and hotels. Excess baggage must

    be the responsibility of the passenger. Delivery of the baggage by the passenger to the airline or motor coach shall be deemed a release of the tour operator from any liability whatsoever, resulting in loss, damage, theft, weather, delay in transit to any baggage, luggage, hand piece, etc. of the tour participant during any and all portions of this tour.     PASSPORT/ VISA: It is the responsibility of the tour participant to have a current

    passport, as well as a pre visa, for entry into Brazil. The cost of the pre-visa and the passport are the responsibility of the tour participant and not
