The Island of Pigs is situated in Salvador. Salvador is a national metropolis with almost three million inhabitants, and the most populous city in the Northeast, the third most populous of Brazil and the eight most populous Latin American city. Its metropolitan area, known as the "Great Savior", has 3,866,004 inhabitants, making it the most populous Northeast and fifth in Brazil. Surface of the city of Salvador is 706.8 km ² (source: IBGE), and its coordinates from the mark of the foundation of the city in Fortress San Antonio are 12 ° 58 '16'' south and 38 ° 30' 39'' west. Economic center of the state, is also exporting port, industrial, administrative and touristic center.

TECHNICAL REPORT OF THE ISLAND: The Island of Pigs is situated in front of the coast of the island of Itaparica. 30 minutes from the Marina of the Contour in Salvador, and has approximately 0.00 m between the quota and 34.00 m above sea level, densely vegetated with the variety of native and exotic species . The island is attached to the mainland of the island of Itaparica through the broad area of Apicum that only floods on higher tides. The topography of the island has an elevation of about 34m of height in the northeastern part of the island falling into a southwesterly direction with gentle slope and in other sides with a slope more steep. On the east, north, northwest and southwest of the island are the patches of mangrove, with a harbour for boats on the east side. At the northwest side after the stain of mangrove rushes two strips of sand banks with more than 2 km of extension in the low tide toward the Canal of the Island. Preliminarily according to the degree of anthropization of existing vegetation on the island it could be used for residential, hotel or touristic purposes. Although project needs to demonstrate its viability, environmental and economic sustainability. The island is accessible by motorboats, sailboats or canoes. It is perfectly possible to connect the island to the mainland through boardwalks in the glade in the mangrove till the arms of sand banks where will have a sandy beach area at low tide, decks and piers of leisure and for the mooring of boats.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ISLAND
The Island of Pigs has the Public Deed duly registered at the Public Registry of Itaparica, differentiating itself from others because 95% of the Islands of Salvador are the concession of the Brazilian Navy. The zoning of Island of Pigs has its PDDU (Directive Plan of Urban Development) with authorization for construction of large scale hotels.
INVESTMENT OPORTUNITY
The Island of Pigs is only ten minutes by boat from the Itaparica island, which has more than 40 km of beaches (average temperature of 24.5 ° C), with abundant tropical vegetation, where exuberant coconut groves predominate, and is next to the City of Salvador, separated by the Bay of Todos os Santos.
Itaparica, “A Ilha“, as it is affectionately called by its residents, visitors and tourists, has 246 km ² and 55.000 inhabitants living in two cities: Itaparica, where is the only source of hydro mineral water in the sea of the Americas, and Vera Cruz.
The municipality of Vera Cruz has, as urban area, the location of the Mar Grande (Great Sea). Going to Itaparica by ferry boat is 45 minutes.

City of Salvador is becoming increasingly attractive for Brazilians and international visitors especially when the city will be hosting FIFA World Cup 2014 football matches, it became even more attractive for different kind of investment projects.
