drain project, interceptor drain project, trash skimmers and conservation of biodiversity.

The committee will consider a reasonable hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for pulses and bonus for the

farmers to promote pulse cultivation and frame an appropriate policy to promote cultivation of lentils in India.

The committee will submit its report within 2- weeks.

12. The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare has launched nationwide “Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight

(IDCF)” in New Delhi.____. Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Note:

The purpose of the IDCF is to curb the risk of diarrhoea which scales up during monsoon season. The Ministry also

unveiled a package of measures to end child diarrhoea deaths on the overdrive.

As per the programme, ASHA workers shall visit all households with children below 5-years of age for pre-

positioning the ORS. The combination of ORS and Zinc has been found to be the most cost-effective intervention to

prevent deaths due to diarrhea.

13. The Supreme Court has sought the Centre's response within 8 weeks on a plea of an ex-servicemen's body seeking

implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) as recommended by - the Koshyari Committee.

14. Scheme approved by Union Cabinet to impart fresh training to 60 lakh youths and certify skills of 40 lakh persons acquired

The three proposed biotechnology hubs will come in Bardhaman, Kalimpong and Medinipur districts.

It will establish a bi-nodal ‘Centre of Propulsion Technology’ (CoPT) at the two institutions.
