1. The union Govt. has conferred infrastructure status to ____ Logistics sector.

Note:

➢ The decision will help logistics sector access longer term finance and on better financing terms.

➢ This status will help the sector get credit at competitive rates and on a long-term basis as rising logistics cost

impacts the global competitiveness of exporters.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched an all in one app at the Global Conference on Cyber Space, as an initiative to

promote Digital India Program ___Umang App.

Note:

➢ UMANG stands for Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance and can be downloaded by the people to

avail various Government services.

➢ The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD) have

together developed this app.

➢ The app provides 162 services from 33 state and central government departments and four states.

3. The union finance Arun Jaitley has launched SBI's unified integrated app ____YONO (You Only Need One).

Note:

➢ ‘YONO’ is the first digital banking platform which offers customized products to the customer. SBI has tied with 60

e-commerce players, including Amazon, Ola, Flipkart, Yatra, etc. to provide more facility other than banking

services.

➢ The application can be accessed on the web browser and mobile phones Android and iOS platforms.

4. The Union Cabinet grants approval for India’s Membership of European Bank for _____Reconstruction & Development.

Note:

➢ The Department of Economic Affairs under Ministry of Finance will now take necessary steps to acquire the

membership of EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction & Development).

➢ This membership is expected to enhance the economic interests of our country and also strengthen India’s

international profile.

➢ Approximately one million euros is the minimum initial investment for the membership of EBRD.

5. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notification, the company can hold more than 26% post-conversion of debt

into equity in companies undergoing restructuring___ Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs).

Note:

➢ ARCs should also maintain new owned fund (NOF) of Rs. 100 crores.

➢ ARCs should have at least half of the board members as independent directors to be eligible for exemption from

the shareholding limit.

6. The union govt. has fixed the issue price of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) for the next subscription period under Sovereign

Gold Bond Scheme 2017 -18 at ____ 2,961 rupees per gram.

Note:

➢ The next subscription period is 27th to 29th of this month.

➢ The government had floated Series-3 of Sovereign Gold Bonds 2017-18, for the period from 9th of October to 27th

of December this year.

7. Foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country increased by 17% during April-September fiscal ____USD 25.35 billion.

➢ The main sectors which attract foreign inflows include services, telecom, trading, computer hardware and

software and automobile.

➢ The total FDI into India including equity inflows, reinvested earnings and other capital stood at USD 518.10 billion

during April 2000 to September this year.

8. The bank has launched an instant international payment services using Ripple’s enterprise blockchain technology solution

for retail and corporate customers____ Axis Bank.

➢ The bank is offering the facility only to its retail customers in the country to receive payments from the UAE-based

Rak Bank and for its corporate customers to receive payments from Standard Chartered, Singapore.

9. Who has officially launched new Payments Bank 'Paytm Payments Bank' at an event in New Delhi__ Arun Jaitley.

Note:

➢ The Payments banks is a new model of banks conceptualised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

➢ Currently, India has four Payments Bank Paytm Payments Bank, Airtel Payments Bank, India Post Payments Bank

and Fino Payments Bank.

➢ Paytm Payments Bank is a mobile-first bank with zero charges on all online transactions and no minimum balance

requirement.

10. E-commerce website Amazon India has launched a new programme to empowering and enabling women entrepreneurs

across the country to sell their products on the its marketplace____Amazon Saheli.

Note:

➢ ‘Amazon India’ has collaborated with organisations that work with towards encouraging women

entrepreneurship, including Self-employed Women's Association and Impulse Social Enterprise.

1. Veteran jazz singer and lyricist passed away at a New York City in United States____ Jon Hendricks.

Note:

➢ The Jazz singer wrote the lyrics to existing Basie songs, and the three recorded their own voices in layers instead

of using backup singers.

2. Noted mimicry artist and actor passed away in Kochi___ Kalabhavan Abi.

Note:

➢ Kalabhavan Abi performance as an aged Muslim lady named ‘Amina Thatha’ made him a household name and also

acted in around 50 films.

➢ His son Shane Nigam is also a popular film actor.

1. Zimbabwe's President resigned ____Robert Mugabe

2. Indian Navy has inducted its first woman pilot___ Shubhangi Swaroop.

Note:

➢ Shubhangi was the first of the 328 cadets who passed out from the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kannur.

Shubhangi would now undergo training for the pilot at Dundigal Airforce Academy in Hyderabad.

3. Britain appoints new Ambassador to UN ___ Karen Pierce.

Note:

➢ Britain has appointed Karen Pierce as its new Ambassador to the UN.

➢ He replaced incumbent Matthew Rycroft under whom it suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of India in the

recent election to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

4. Who has become the new President of Zimbabwe ___ Emmerson Mnangagwa.

➢ The seat is vacant after Robert Mugabe stepped down as the President.

5. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) chief is set to assume the charge of Deputy Director-General of the WHO in

➢ It is the second-highest position in the WHO.

➢ Soumya Swaminathan is the daughter of MS Swaminathan, considered the father of India’s Green Revolution, and

6. Former bureaucrat will chair the 15th Finance Commission which will make recommendations for the five years

commencing 1st April 2020___ NK Singh.

Note:

➢ The commission will recommend devolution of shareable central taxes to the States, also review several important

aspects of federal fiscal finance.

➢ It is a body set up under Article 280 of the Constitution. Its primary job is to recommend measures and methods

on how revenues need to be distributed between the Centre and states.

7. Former economic affairs secretary has been appointed India’s G20 Sherpa for the Development Track of the

grouping___Shaktikanta Das.

Note:

➢ The Department of Economic Affairs will provide necessary support to the Sherpa.

➢ A Sherpa is a personal representative of the leader of a member country at an international Summit meeting such

as the G8/G20 or the Nuclear Security Summit.

8. Senior IAS officer has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India_____ Pradeep Singh

Kharola.

➢ Currently, Mr. Kharola is the Managing Director (MD) of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.

9. Who has been appointed Lok Sabha Secretary General____ Snehlata Shrivastava.

Note:

➢ Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has approved the appointment of Senior IAS officer Snehlata Shrivastava (1982 batch:

Madhya Pradesh cadre) as new Secretary-General of Lok Sabha.

➢ She will replace Anoop Mishra.

➢ Snehlata will be the first woman Secretary-General of Lok Sabha.

➢ Adele stood second in the list, earning USD 69 million and Taylor Swift grabbed the third spot with total earnings of USD 44 million.

3. Miss South Africa has been crowned Miss Universe 2017 at Planet Hollywood casino-resort on the Las Vegas Strip___ Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters. Note:

➢ Nel-Peters beat out first runner-up Laura González (Miss Colombia) and second runner-up Davina Bennett (Miss Jamaica) for the crown.

➢ Nearly 100 women from across the globe travel to compete in the 66th Miss Universe competition. 4. The film has won the two awards at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane ___Newton.

Note: ➢ President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the 3rd Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) distinguished

Indologist Award to Japan’s Professor Hiroshi Marui at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. ➢ Professor Marui had spent over 40 years working on Indian philosophy & Buddhist studies, made significant

1. The world's fastest supersonic cruise missile has been successfully tested for the first time from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter of

the Indian Air Force (IAF) ___ BrahMos.

Note:

➢ Now, BrahMos is capable of being launched from land, sea, and air.

➢ world's only supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was built as an India-Russia collaboration, named after the rivers

Moskva and Brahmaputra.

2. President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Indian National Army (INA) War Memorial and Museum at ____ Moirang, Manipur.

Note:

➢ President Kovind also visited the INA museum which houses wartime relics, photographs and other documents

related to INA.

➢ Moirang was the headquarters of Azad Hind Fauz during World War II.

3. The Swedish furnishing retailer has opened its first store a ‘Hej Home’ in Hyderabad ___IKEA.

➢ The store will provide some awareness of Ikea products and solutions to its customers.The store will open for

6. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 5th edition of Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) in ___Delhi.

➢ The theme of conference is ‘Cyber4All: A Secure and Inclusive Cyberspace for Sustainable Development’.

7. The ministry conducted a multi-State mega mock exercise on tsunami preparedness___ Home Affairs.

9. The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has nominated how many movies for this year’s International Council for

Film, Television, and Audio-visual Communication (ICFT) UNESCO Gandhi Medal___ Nine movies.

Note:

➢ The ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Award will be given to a film that best reflects Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of peace,

tolerance and non-violence.

➢ The Indian films competing for the prestigious ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal are Kshitij - A Horizon, Manusangada,

Poorna, Railway Children and Take-Off.

10. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated the International Gita Mahotsav at _____Kurukshetra,Haryana.

11. A two-day conference on National Law Day to celebrate the adoption of Constitution in___ New Delhi.

➢ The Ministry of Human Resources Development has launched a Digital Signature campaign on Constitution Day

affirming faith in Indian Constitution and to generate awareness on fundamental duties enshrined in the

Constitution.

➢ The National Law Day is being observed jointly by the NITI Aayog and Law Commission of India.

12. The union govt. has notified Minimum Export Price of onion to ensure its availability in the domestic market___850

dollars per tonne.

Note:

➢ This will discourage cheap export from the country and augment its domestic availability.

➢ The National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) and Small Farmers Agribusiness

Consortium (SFAC) to procure 12 thousand tonnes onion.

➢ MMTC has been given permission to import two thousand tonnes of onion to augment its availability in the

market.

13. The 12th Standing Committee meeting of the Inter-State Council held under the Chairmanship of Home Minister Rajnath

Singh in ____New Delhi.

Note:

➢ The meeting will discuss the recommendations of the Punchhi Commission on Centre-State Relations.

➢ Representatives of 30 Union Ministries and Departments and 7 State Governments have also been invited to assist

the Committee in its deliberations.

1. The National Milk Day (NMD) has been observed across India ___26th November. Note:

➢ The day mark the birth anniversary of the Father of the White Revolution Dr. Verghese Kurien. ➢ The idea of observing National Milk Day was first mooted by Indian Dairy Association (IDA) in 2014 on the lines of

World Milk Day that is observed on 1st June every year under the aegis of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

2. The Constitution Day in India is being celebrated every year on ____26th of November. Note:

➢ India had adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26th of November in the year 1949 and came into force on 26th of January in 1950.

➢ The HRD Ministry has launched a Digital Signature campaign to generate awareness on fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution.

States News

1. The state govt. has decided to sell tur dal at subsidized rates Rs. 55 per kg through its public distribution system (PDS)___Maharashtra. Note:

➢ They decided to mill tur and sell it to the various departments including tribal development, women, and child development & medical education department for their respective establishments.

➢ The state govt. has procured around 25 lakh quintal Tur for 1,263 crore rupees. 2. The state has the highest number of women entrepreneurs in India ___ Tamil Nadu.

Note: ➢ The report is based on the state-wise analysis of the state of women entrepreneurship in the country.

3. A Project is launched for Development of North Eastern Region ___ North East Rural Livelihood Project. Note:

➢ The objective of the scheme is to assist over 10,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs) and benefit about three lakh poor households.

➢ The scheme is supported by the World Bank and will primarily benefit the tribal and the lower socioeconomic groups, including women, in the North-Eastern Region (NER).

4. Chief Minister of Maharashtra ‘Devendra Fadnavis’ and Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar jointly laid the foundation stone of a healthcare centre for children in____ Kharghar, Mumbai. Note:

➢ The centre is named as 'The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Health Care and Training in Paediatric Heart Care Skill'.

➢ It would be operational in about a year. 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase of the 30 km-long (24 stations) Hyderabad Metro Rail

from____ Miyapur to Nagole. Note:

➢ The Hyderabad Metro Rail Project will cover a total distance of 72 kilometres across three corridors. 6. The state govt. has 'Fish Pond Yojana' scheme to boost fish production in the state with a budgetary provision of 96 crore

rupees in Bhubaneshwar___ Odisha. Note:

➢ The scheme aims to create additional 2,200 hectares of fresh water aquaculture farming with 50% financial assistance to farmers.

7. The state govt. will get three Passport Seva Kendras (PSK) within two weeks and 20 such facilities by the end of 2018___ Odisha. Note:

➢ The three PSKs will come up in Balasore, Bhawanipatna and Berhampur by the next fortnight. 8. The state Govt. has imposed a ban on the bursting of firecrackers in six of its cities from 1st December to 31st January____

1. Who has developed an Improved Samba Masuri (ISM) variety rice with low Glycemic Index ____CCMB-IIRR. Note:

➢ Rice is considered suitable for people with diabetics and resistant to bacteria blight. ➢ The new variety is not a transgenic one and they did molecular breeding in CCMB and traditional rice breeding at

the rice research institute. 2. A volcano on the Indonesian tourist island of Bali has erupted for the first time in __54 years.

Note: ➢ The agency has advised people to stay away from areas within a 7.5 kilo meter radius of the volcano. The volcano

belched smoke as high as 700 meters above its summit. In 1963, around 1,600 people died when Mount Agung erupted.

3. The country has named the most violent region in the world for Women____ Latin America. Note:

➢ UN Women and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) in a report presented in Panama found Latin America and the Caribbean as the most violent region in the world for women.

➢ Central America and Mexico were named as particularly dangerous places in the report. 4. The country has successfully launched remote sensing satellites designed to conduct electromagnetic probes & other

experiments__ China. Note:

➢ The satellites were launched on board of Long March-2C rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province.

➢ The Satellite developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). 5. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the eighth edition of Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in

______Hyderabad. Note:

➢ The three-day summit hosted by India and the United States is being held for the first time in South Asia in Hyderabad.

➢ More than 10 countries are represented by an all-female delegation, including from Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.

6. The annual meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) begins in Russian city of _____Sochi. Note:

➢ In June, India and Pakistan had become full-fledged members of the grouping. 7. India donated how many metric tonnes of rice to the Kingdom of Lesotho (in Southern Africa), which is facing acute food

shortage due to famine_____500 metric tonnes. Note:

➢ High Commissioner of India to South Africa and Lesotho, Ruchira Kamboj handed over the donation to the government of Lesotho.

2. Indian off-spinner has become the fastest bowler to reach the milestone of 300 Test wickets in his 54th match___ Ravichandran Ashwin. Note:

➢ Earlier, Australian fast bowling legend Lillee had reached the milestone in 56 Test matches way back in 1981. ➢ Ashwin is only the fifth Indian bowler to complete a career 300-wickets in Test cricket behind Anil Kumble.

3. Who has clinched the silver medal in Under-23 Senior World Wrestling Championship at Poland_ Ritu Phogat. Note:

➢ She lost against Wrestler Demirhan (Turkish) in the gold medal bout of women's 48-kilogram category. ➢ She had won the National championship in Indore this month and bronze medal at the Asian Championships in

May 2017. 4. Argentine professional footballer has received his fourth Golden Shoe award for leading all of Europe's leagues in scoring

last season___ Lionel Messi. Note:

➢ Messi drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally of four European Golden Shoes after receiving the award at a ceremony in Barcelona, Spain.

➢ He claimed the prize ‘handed to Europe’s top goal scorer for his 37 LaLiga strikes in 2016-17. ➢ Earlier, Messi has taken the honours in 2010(34-goals), 2012(50 goals) and 2013(46 goals).

5. The first Indian man to clinch the gold medal in the Asian Marathon Championships (16th edition) in Dongguan, China___ Gopi Thonakal. Note: Note:

➢ He completed the distance in 2 hours, 15 minutes and 48 seconds, finishing ahead of Petrov Andrey (Uzbekistan) who clocked 2:15:51 hours.

14. The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has recognised as a national body by the____ Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Note:

➢ Earlier, The BFI recognized by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the Sports Ministry. ➢ The Sports Ministry had earlier barred IABF from representing India as it was no longer a national federation. ➢ The IOA's decision is expected to end the IABF's attempts at reviving itself.

15. Ace Indian cueist secured his 18th World Championship title with 8-2 win over ‘Amir Sarkhosh’ (Iran) at Al-Arabi Sports Club, Doha, Qatar____ Pankaj Advani. Note:

➢ The best-of-15 frame final witnessed Amir pocketing the first frame rather comfortably ➢ Earlier, Advani had won his 17th world title at the same venue when he won the IBSF World Billiards

Championship defeating Mike Russell of England. 16. Who has won the Davis Cup for the first time in 16 years after beating Belgium___ France.

Note: ➢ Now, France has joined Britain in third place on the list for the most Davis Cup titles, behind the United States (32)

and Australia.
