    LSICOURSESINTERACTIVE CLASSROOM TECHNIQUES

The goal of our programmes is to help each student to build theconfidence needed to work towards both fluent and accurate use ofthe English language. At LSI, we provide students with the chance to

learn practical and productive skills, so that they can use them withconfidence in the future. To make the learning process enjoyable, we use a range ofcommunicative teaching techniques together with a variety of differentmedia.

In the classroom, teachers use a communicative approach to teachEnglish. The students develop language skills which they can use inthe situations they find themselves in while living in London.

The entire curriculum is structured to follow a progression from levelto level. New skills are introduced, while existing skills are reinforced.

    ACCOMMODATION

All of LSI's accommodation options are carefully selected toensure that they meet our quality standards.

    HOST FAMILIES

Most students who attend classes at LSI Brighton choose to livewith host families during their stay. The greatest advantage of aHomestay experience is the opportunity to communicate andinteract with people outside the classroom as well as toexperience another culture first hand.

    Dinner with a host family

We have personally recruited our families and have worked

closely with many of them for over 15 years. Ouraccommodation officer carefully selects every host family toensure that each student's stay is comfortable, enjoyable andsafe. The families are closely monitored to keep our informationup-to-date through visits and continuous student feedback. Themajority of our host families live within approximately 30 minutesof the school and are located in the Hove and western areas ofthe city. All host families are easily accessible by bus, train orbicycle.

Our families homes range in size from apartments to largerhomes. Brightonians are used to having many foreign visitors in

the city, and so are very welcoming and friendly to othercultures. They will be very interested in your home country andcustoms and would love to sample typical food from yourcountry, or discuss your different tastes. Most hosts will involvestudents in menu selection and some hosts are able toaccommodate special dietary requirements. Students have achoice of B&B (bed and breakfast) or Half Board (breakfast anddinner.) Full-board options can also be available on specialequest.

with self-catering student houses available inthe city centre just off the beach.
