X was the first Company to introduce multi-axled trucks, full air brakes and a host of innovations like the rear engine and articulated buses in India. In 1997, the company launched the country’s first CNG bus and in 2002, developed the first Hybrid Electric Vehicle. X has also entered into some significant partnerships, seizing growth opportunities offered by diversification and globalization – with Continental Corporation for automotive infotronics; with Alteams in Finland for high pressure die casting and recently, with John Deere for construction equipment.
As part of this global strategy, the company acquired Czech Republic-based Avia's truck business
3) This was developed by Hyundai Motors specifically for the smaller steel boxes running on the roads, or hatches to be less critical. Now, what makes this engine "the special one" is the fact that this was designed by Hyundai for Indian and other similar markets like South America, East Europe etc, and so as it turns out, it really is a hell of a fuel efficient heart. In India, they are offering this engine with i10 &, alto in Europe, with both i10 and i20.

4)What are we talking about? “It was used primarily as a bridging vehicle. During
combat two of these would jump over a river towing cables and over here at the throttle is the switch which will propel you into a rampless jump.”
On the first jump test, the X's front end collapsed and had to be completely rebuilt. The basic configuration of the newly designed X included a 5.7-liter Chevy V8 engine, a truck axle for the rear axle, front tires by Hoosier (which are actually dirt racing tires used on the right rear of open wheel sprint cars), 4 rear 44/18.5-16.5 Interco Super Swamper TSL tires (44" tall, 18.5" wide, mounted on a 16.5" wheel) and the suspension system of Baja racing trucks.

8) Also called "Emily" or "Flying Lady", it was designed by Charles Robinson Sykes and carries with it a story about a secret passion between John Walter Montagu and his secret love and the model for the emblem, Eleanor Velasco Thornton. Eleanor was John Walter's secretary, and their love was to remain hidden due to Eleanor's impoverished social and economic status, which was an obstacle to their love. John-Walter, succumbing to family pressures, married Lady Cecil Victoria Constance, but the secret love affair continued.
Eleanor died on 30 December 1915 when the SS Persia, on which she accompanied Lord Montagu on his journey to India, was torpedoed off Crete by a German submarine, four years after she had been immortalized by her lover.

X, built in 1855, is the world's oldest steam locomotive in regular operation today, plying between New Delhi to Alwar in India. The locomotive was certified by the Guinness Book of Records to be the oldest operational locomotive after the Rajasthan government invoked it in 2004 to lug a deluxe train in order to boost tourism in the area.
X was constructed in Leeds, England in 1855, and reached Calcutta in the same year where it was christened as the X. The locomotive was given its fleet number 22, by its then owner, The East Indian Railway. It began to haul light mail trains between Howrah and Raniganj, but was soon consigned to line construction duty in the state of Bihar, where it served until 1909. The locomotive spent the next thirty-four years on a pedestal outside the Howrah Railway Station near Calcutta. In 1943, the locomotive was shifted to the Railway Zonal Training School at Chandausi, where it served as a curiosity object for many of the students based there. In 1972, the Indian government bequeathed heritage status to the engine, rendering it a national treasure. In 1997, after the runaway success of the Palace on Wheels, the locomotive was restored to full working order in preparation for its first mainline journey in 88 years and its return to commercial service on July 18 that year.

X was recognized by 19th-century feminists and suffragists as a "freedom machine" for women. American Susan B. Anthony said in a New York World interview on February 2, 1896: "Let me tell you what I think of X. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel... the picture of free, untrammeled womanhood." In 1895 Frances Willard, the tightly laced president of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, wrote a book in which she praised the X , and which she named "Gladys", for its "gladdening effect" on her health and political optimism. She proclaimed "I would not waste my life in friction when it could be turned into momentum."The craze for X in the 1890s also led to a movement for so-called rational dress, which helped liberate women from corsets and ankle-length skirts and other restrictive garments, substituting the then-shocking bloomers.

6) What safety mechanism am I talking about?
X is a system intended to bridge the gap between primary safety, which aims to prevent a car from being involved in an accident, and secondary safety, which is the protection provided during a collision. At speeds above 30km/h X monitors the dynamic state of the vehicle (speed, rotation etc.) and the driver’s inputs to steering, accelerator and brake, to determine whether or not emergency action is being taken. If so, the system deems that a collision is imminent: among other measures, it takes the slack out of the seat belts using reversible tensioners; it optimises the occupants’ seating position if electrically adjustable seats are fitted; and, if there is much rotation or side slip and a side impact or roll-over is considered likely, it closes the electric windows and sunroof. X is always on; it cannot be switched off by the driver and provides protection at all speeds above 30km/h.
