• High spirited 16 hours overnight event (sundown to sunrise)

• Teams of friends, coworkers, family and neighbours take turns to walk around the track

• Participants camp out together to create a community party atmosphere

How Did It All Start?

• Dr. Gordy Klatt, Tacoma, Washington (1985)

• Walk & Run 24 hours to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. He raised USD27,000 the first year.• He invited his friends to join him the next year.

People camped out and took turns walking the track.

• Today, Relay For Life is being held in 22 countries all over the world.
