The Corporation is specialized in design and manufacture of military equipment, railway vehicles and products, oil-and-gas equipment, road-building vehicles, and tractors.

Corporation “URALVAGONZAVOD” is a recog-nized leader of car-building industry in the 1520-mm gauge domain. The incorporates manu-facture a quarter of the freight railway vehicle market of Russia and CIS countries.

At present, URALVAGONZAVOD is the first car-building company of the 1520-mm gauge domain serially manufac-turing new generation gondola car 12-196-01 with 25-tf bogie 18-194-1 featuring the increased overhaul life up to 500000 km. This gondola car is beyond comparison thanks to combination of improved dynamic parameters, performance and economic characteristics.

Research and Production Corporation “URALVAGONZAVOD” is the largest machine-building complex incorporating 22 enterprises, research institutes, and design offices of Russia and Europe.

The main customers of the Corporation are the largest state and private operators and leasing companies. The corporation full capacity is over 25,000 railway vehicles a year. Within the span of three fourths of a century, more than a million of railway vehicles have come off the Nizhny Tagil URALVAGONZAVOD assembly line. Currently, every third freight car of the country main lines bears the URALVAGONZAVOD trademark.

Уральское конструкторское бюро вагоностроения является головным и славится своими инновационными разработками. По проектам уральских конструкторов работают все вагоностроительные и многие вагоноремонтные заводы России и стран СНГ. Специалистами КБ ведется разработка принципиально новых конструкций вагонов и тележек с увеличенными осевыми нагрузками и совершенствование серийно выпускаемых вагонов с оптимизацией их по прочностным характеристикам и повышением показателей эксплуатационной надежности.В 2012 году корпорацией разработан специализированный тяговый модуль вагонов ТМВ-2, являющийся эффективной альтернативой маневровому тепловозу.

Это универсальное транспортное средство рамной конструкции с двумя ведущими мостами, с управляемыми передними и задними колесами, с передними и задними направляющими железнодорожными колесами.Вся продукция, выпускаемая корпорацией «Уралвагонзавод», является инновационной и высокотехнологичной, в производстве которой используются передовые достижения отраслевой науки. Использование современных технологий, в том числе нанотехнологий и технологий военного назначения, а также продуманная политика в области качества обеспечивают высокую эффективность работы изделия в течение всего его жизненного цикла.

В настоящее время в корпорации ведется активная работа по внедрению международного железнодорожного стандарта IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard).

The Ural Railcar-Building Design Office is a lead-ing one, famous for its innovation designs. All car-building enterprises and many car-repair works of Russia and CIS countries make use of projects of the Ural designers. Specialists of the Design Office design brand new cars and bogies with increased axleload and improve serially manufactured vehicles to optimize their strength properties and maintainability. Purpose-built car hauler TMB-2 was designed by the Corpora-tion in 2012 to make an effective alternative to diesel-locomotive shunter. This multi-purpose vehicle of center-sill design has two driving axles, steerable front and rear wheels, and front and rear railway idler wheels.

All the URALVAGONZAVOD products are in-novative and high-technology ones made with the use of advanced achievements of sectoral researches. State-of-the-art technologies, in-cluding nanotechnologies, military technologies, and well-thought-out quality policy provide high performance of the products during their whole life cycle.

Currently, the Corporation is actively working on imple-mentation of International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS).
