I would also like to take the opportunity to recognize Liliane Meghabghap. Liliane acts as our FSO-SR
(Secretary of Records), FSO-NS (ATON Services), and our Office Manager. Every time I go to our base
for any activity, Liliane is always there helping with any and all of our activities. She not only deserves
my thanks and recognition but also thanks from all of us for her dedication for the amount of time she
dedicates to our organization. THANKS to Liliane for doing such a great job and remember as a flotilla
member to please support her any way you can.
Congratulations and thanks to all that participated in our September activities, especially if you
documented your hours on either a 7029 or 7030 and I challenge those that do not to just ask Andrea, me,
or one of our great staff officers for instructions on how to complete one. Believe me it is easy to do, even
I can do it.
Below is a summary of Division 3 hours as of 10/03/11. We are well on the way of exceeding our 2011
goals. We as a team should be very proud of our contribution in supporting our objectives and the
objectives of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. In order for us to get the hours documented that we actually
contribute it is important to insure that all activities are documented correctly and on the correct form. We
can do this, not by working harder, but by working smarter.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the September activities, including the Lighthouse tour,
International Beach Cleanup, 9/11 patrols, and completion of the AUXWEA class.
Good luck to the enthusiastic students enrolled in AUXNAV – it is a premier class that we teach only to
Auxiliarists. It would be difficult to find anything like this, anywhere else.

October should resume normal safety patrol and comms watches, now that POMS is back in operation.
Congratulations to those who completed the 8-hr TCT training, the final training of the year. Thank you to
Len Schwartz, the TCT trainer for the Division, for providing this opportunity for nearly 20 Auxiliarists.
Mark your calendars now for Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and plan to attend the annual ceremony at the Boca
Cemetery. Bill Bartley has been invited to participate in this memorable event, which starts at 9 AM. This
is a fine tribute to all our veterans.
We are finally getting some better weather and that makes it more inviting to get outside and enjoy the
water and outdoors. Soon we’ll have snowbirds back with us, and that will definitely mean the holiday
season is here. Watch the calendars carefully – there’s something for everyone! For example, if you like
boat parades, listen for details about the 35th annual Boca Holiday Boat Parade (Dec. 17). Prefer street
parades? Put the 41st annual Boca Holiday Street Parade (Dec. 7) on your calendar. You’ll hear more about
these events soon.
Please remember to send your payment for the Change of Watch on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the Delray
Golf Course. If you haven’t been to this event, it’s our finest formal affair – “civilian” formal attire – men
wear suits, and women wear long dresses or holiday attire. It is an opportunity to thank the 2011 staff, and
swear in the staff for 2012. In addition, we’ll have a delicious dinner, music, and dancing. There is usually
a raffle for gift baskets, so bring a few extra dollars. The bar will be open all night, charging minimal
prices. This is a night to invite your spouse (or guest) for a relaxing evening and meet other fun-loving
Auxiliarists. I look forward to that night every year!

not as quick as we would like. Also for re-inspections, be sure and have your last offer for use handy
so there is a reference for specific information such as engine information and fuels etc. Here is a
