Construction of dual carriageway with a length of 28.6 kilometres

12 kilometre slip roads 8.5 kilometre service roads An extra 8 kilometre service roads whose location shall be

Mombasa, Langata and Ngong roads Fly-overs (partial interchanges) at Community, Thogoto

Statistics have shown that over 47% of Nairobi Residents walk to and from work.

Non-motorized traffic facilities have been integrated into the designs of all road projects.

NMT facilities include:-Walkways-Cycle Tracks -Foot Bridges

These also help to improve on road safety.

The project for the improvement of Eastliegh roads cover the following roads with a total of 2.1km:

-2nd Avenue Eastleigh-15th Street and adjoining streets.

2nd Avenue Eastleigh and 15th Street link Juja Road to 1st Avenue Eastleigh.

-Drainage Works-Construction of Footpaths-Construction of Bus-bays -Reconstruction of the carriageway-Junction Repairs

The project commenced on 13th March, 2012 and is expected to be completed by 24th May 2013
