A MESSAGE FOR YOU

Christ the King Social Justice Ministries
H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Emerge) Christ the Kings’ H.O.P.E. Ministry assists parishioners and others living in our parish boundaries with food and other items, such as personal hygiene items, etc. The ministry operates out of the Christ the King Community Center on Broadway, on Tuesdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm and Thursdays from 4:45pm to 6:15pm. In addition to weekly food boxes H.O.P.E. has a yearly Thanksgiving Food Drive to provide a complete Thanksgiving feast to those in need in our community, and also organizes the Christmas Angels program. H.O.P.E. is supplied through donations placed in the boxes at the entrance of the church, as well as a variety of businesses, bakeries, restaurants and grocery stores from within our community, purchased items from the United Food Bank, and financial donations. H.O.P.E. has a loyal volunteer base numbering around 50, with help from the students at Christ the King School, the Religious Education program and High School students earning service hour credits for their respective high schools. H.O.P.E. could not exist without these volunteers. As a group, we have become a close knit family that believes in the corporal work of mercy: to feed the hungry. Our time spent together also involves prayer and specific prayers for our individual and community needs. Volunteers are always welcome. We have winter parishioners who volunteer at H.O.P.E. each year. As one winter volunteer said, “H.O.P.E. is the highlight of my visit to Mesa each year.” Christ the King is fortunate to have H.O.P.E. as one of our ministries. If you would like to become part of our H.O.P.E. family, please call the Parish Office to volunteer.
Saint Vincent de Paul St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that offers person to person service to those who are needy and suffering in our parish boundaries. Although new to us this year, its history dates back to the year 1833! The Christ the King conference began serving the community of Christ the King in February of this year, beginning with 4 officers, from our Christ the King parishioners, helping those in financial crisis. They go out to visit the person who has asked for help in teams of two. Bringing with them friendship, hope and encouragement, as well as helping them with a financial gift and information of other ways our community can serve their needs. As of today the team has prayed with and served 40 families in our community, through your generosity. So thank you! If you would like more information on how to support this ministry, please contact the Christ the King Venetian Conference at 480-500-1393.

UN MENSAJE PARA USTED
Ministerios de Justicia Social de Cristo Rey

A Prayer for Generosity
Dear Lord, teach me to be generous,
teach me to serve you as you deserve,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wound,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for a reward,
save that of knowing that I do Your will.
~ St. Ignatius of Loyola
Una oración para la generosidad
Señor Jesús
enséñanos a ser generosos,
a servirte como Tú mereces,
a dar sin medida,
a combatir sin temor a las heridas,
a trabajar sin descanso,
sin esperar otra recompensa
que saber que hemos cumplido
Tu santa voluntad.

Come, Holy Ghost, Creator blest, and in our hearts take up Thy rest. Come with Thy grace and heavenly aid, to fill the hearts which Thou hast made. To fill the hearts which Thou hast made.
Come, Holy Spirit, Come. O most Blessed Light Divine. Let Your radiance in us shine, Holy Spirit.
O Comforter, to Thee we cry, Thou gift of God sent from on high. Thou font of life and fire of love, The soul's anointing from above. The soul's anointing from above.
Praise be to Thee, Father and Son, and Holy Spirit with them one. And may the Son on us bestow all gifts that from the Spirit flow. All gifts that from the Spirit flow.

Long after the tears fall, I’m still Your child. I’ve put down my defenses, and lay down my pride. Love and forgiveness flow deep and wide. So I’ll run to You, and surrender all,
As I lay down my life and pick up my cross. What a joy it is to give my life away to You. All that I need, all that I seek is You here with me. Holy Spirit, have Your way in me.
In times of trouble, though trials may come, The Rock of Ages is standing strong. I’m fighting battles, but the war is won. So I’ll run to You, and surrender all,
More of You, and less of me, God. (Six times) More of You, overflowing.
Tom Booth © 2001 OCP
Be forgiven. Be forgiven. Be forgiven of the sin that you hold on. Be forgiven. Be forgiven. Jesus died and rose that you might know His love and be forgiven.
Jesus told you, he wants your peace. Jesus told you he wants you healed. Jesus lifted up the blind man, he lifted up the dead. He lifted those who mourn their own. He did just what he said. Jesus rose for you and He rose for me. He died and rose that we might know His peace, and . . .
Jesus walked the miles that it took to reach us. Jesus touched the lepper that you shouldn’t touch. Jesus wept for Lazurus, don’t you think he’ll do the same for you and me when we are dead, and we are in our graves? Jesus rose for you and He rose for me. He died and rose that we might know His peace, and . . .
Like the women at the well He looks into our eyes and tells us everything that we have ever done. With a love that’s plain to see He is calling you and me to follow Him that we might truly be. . .
Forgiven, forgiven. Forgiven of the sin that we hold on. Be forgiven. Be forgiven. Jesus died and rose that we might know His love, and be forgiven.

There's nothing worth more that will ever come close. No thing can compare; You're our living hope.
Your Presence, Lord.
I've tasted and seen of the sweetest of loves, where my heart becomes free and my shame is
undone, in Your Presence, Lord.
Holy Spirit, You are welcome here; Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere; Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for,
To be overcome by your Presence, Lord. Your Presence, Lord.
Let us become more aware of Your Presence; Let us experience the glory of Your goodness. Lord.
Act of Faith During Communion: Lord Jesus Christ, I firmly believe that you are present in this Blessed Sacrament as true God and true Man, with your Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. My Redeemer and my Judge, I adore your Divine Majesty together with the angels and saints. I believe, O Lord; increase my faith.
Acts 2: 4, 11 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the marvels of God, alleluia.

There is power, power Here in this hour, this hour We're all together, together
Waiting here as one
Whoa, hear the sound from Heaven Whoa, a mighty rushing wind Whoa, we're calling for revival
God let Your fire fall again It's burning in my soul...
All Your sons and Your daughters Dreaming the dreams of the Father Seeing the signs and the wonders
The Kingdom of God
I cannot contain it, this fire inside I cannot contain it so let it shine
I cannot contain it, this light of mine
Whoa, hear the sound from Heaven Whoa, a mighty rushing wind Whoa, we're calling for revival
God let Your fire fall again It's burning in my soul...
(Repeat 3 times)
There is power, power Here in this hour, this hour We're all together, together
Waiting here as one. It's burning in my soul. It's burning in my soul.
