Non-Forced Entry BurglariesA statistical increase in non-forced entry residential and vehicular burglaries has recently beenobserved. This would imply that victims have left doors and windows open. During the entireyear of 2011, 15% of all reported residential burglaries listed the access point as non-forcedentry. For the same period, 10% of all auto burglaries were non-forced entry. These particular

crimes could have been avoided.Residence: Secure all windows and lock doors when leaving your residence. Consider second-

ary window locks and fortify deadbolt locks with long strike plate screws.Vehicle: Remove perceived valuable items from your vehicle, roll-up windows and lock doors.
