Non-Forced Entry Burglaries A statistical increase in non-forced entry residential and vehicular burglaries has recently been observed. This would imply that victims have left doors and windows open. During the entire year of 2011, 15% of all reported residential burglaries listed the access point as non-forced entry. For the same period, 10% of all auto burglaries were non-forced entry. These particular crimes could have been avoided. Residence: Secure all windows and lock doors when leaving your residence. Consider second- ary window locks and fortify deadbolt locks with long strike plate screws. Vehicle: Remove perceived valuable items from your vehicle, roll-up windows and lock doors.
