BUDGET CONCERNING THE HEALTH
SECTOR
Allocation of overall funds increased by Rs 2,770 crore
Assess expenditure carried out under National Rural HealthMission
Uniform / concessional basic duty of 5% for all medicalappliances
Convergence of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act(NREGA) with wider health insurance coverage through Rashtriya
Swasthya Bima Yojana
Countervailing duty of 4% on all medical equipments, with fullexemption from special additional duty

ALLOCATION FOR HEALTH SECTOR
An allocation of Rs 154.40 bn for National Rural HealthMission
The benefits under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana are
proposed to be extended to all.
The contributions to the Central Government Health Schemeare proposed to be eligible for a deduction under theIncome-tax Act.
An allocation of Rs 90 bn for National Rural Drinking WaterProgramme.

services accounts for about 82% of the overallhealth expenditure and 4.2% of the GDP. It hasbeen found that private health service.

IMPACT ON HEALTH SECTOR
The health sectors sales is expected to grow
by a healthy 25.6% IN 2010-11 AND 19.8%
in 2011-12 driven by healthy rise in sales.
Medical bills are expected to go up by 5 -10%
in drugs and medical equipments. Homeopathy
medications cost too would go up.

category of fields within the service industry
that includes lodging, restaurants, event
planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise
line, and additional fields within the tourism
