This is what I remember

I was told that if I tried really hard that one day I could live in space.

At a recent meeting in Huntsville I listened to a NASA educator say the same thing to her students.

WTF?!

How did our space program go from this

to this

While everything else went from this

to this?

Profit

I guess we’ll have to go do it our own damn selves…

Mario!

Suborbital tourism is not the “killer app” anymore than barnstorming was the killer app of aviation

Tourism drives up flight rate which decreases costs enough to make other missions profitable

Unaffordable at any reasonable budget

Human Spaceflight Review Committee

"If Santa Claus brought us this system tomorrow, fully developed, and the budget didn't change, our next action would have to be to cancel it."

Now what?

NASA is completely out of the transport to Low Earth Orbit business.

Ares I is canceled.

One of the most affordable but still interesting options is “Deep Space”

Everything from the moon inis provided by commercial service providers.

Augustine Commission: “The only justification for spending this much money is permanent settlement of space.”

Regardless of what NASA or the government decide, we’re still going to be building it ourselves. We’re going this time…

By the way, this is the Hubble Deep Field. Each one of these dots is a galaxy. Each galaxy can have from 107 to 1012 stars. This image is only 1/28,000,000 of the total area of the sky.
