From the time that you were born, physical

development has been an important part of

your development.

You have been undergoing different stages of

development physically, emotionally,

spiritually, socially and mentally.

However you need to be exposed to many

forms of physical activity while in school.

During your previous years, you were exposed

to the different development of basic skills,

movement exploration and self testing

activities along with the team-oriented sports.

As a teenage, you still need to develop your

young physique. You must be fit in order to be

in good health.

A. PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

Physical fitness as a part of the Physical

Education subject, strives to help or

facilitate the development of the

potentialities of the individual to be able to

attain total fitness and enable hi/her to

enjoy “good life”

PHYSICAL FITNESS

The capacity to carry out one’s daily task

without undue fatigue and still have ample

reserve energy to enjoy leisure time and

unforeseen emergencies.

B. PRINCIPLE OF

PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING

Physical fitness program are designed to

improve:

1. Individual muscular strength

2. Endurance and resistance to fatigue

3. Work output and efficiency

ACTIVITY PRINCIPLES

1. Overload principles which states that improvement in physical fitness is achieved by continuously and progressively subjecting the body into increasing load. In applying overload principle, the ff. factors are considered.

a. Intensityb. Durationc. Frequency of training exercise

2. Specifically, in physical fitness training, you

get what you train for. In order to improve all

aspects of physical fitness, one must include

in his training program different exercises to

develop each component of fitness.

3. Time for exercise should be governed by the

inclination and time table of the individual.

Definite periods of exercise should be

established and maintained.

C. PULSE RATE AS

BASIC NEED IN

FITNESS TRAINING

The most important angle indicator of well-

being, stress or illness in your body is your

pulse, for it gives you any change that may

be taking place in you as a person, whether

such change is brought about by physiological

or physical factor.
