Task 1

Think about how effective these adjectives are.

Which words are proper nouns? Which words are common nouns?

Which noun does each adjective modify?

Can you list all the pronouns?Why are pronouns important?

Task 2Choose a noun e.g. monster

Add (one or more) adjective to modify it e.g. fierce, scary monster.

Add a determiner e.g. A fierce, scary monster.

Expand the noun phrase e.g. A fierce, scary monster with purple spiky hair.

Expand into a sentence e.g. A fierce, scary monster with purple spiky hair threatened the town.

Change the noun to a pronoun e.g. ‘It threatened the town.’

Now do this again two times with different nouns.
