Packaging• Defined by EU and Irish legislation:

“packaging shall mean all products made of any materials of any nature to be used for the containment, protection, handling, delivery and presentation of goods, from raw materials to processed goods, from the producer to the user or the consumer.”

Primary Packaging

• Primary or Sales Packaging is that which surrounds the product when it is sold to the final consumer.

• Secondary or Grouped Packaging is that which is used to collate sales units for ease of handling in the selling environment.
