What is Lync?
Connect with others conveniently for meetings and collaboration.
Communicate through Instant Messaging, Audio Calls, Video Calls, Desktop Sharing, and Lync Meetings.
Think Microsoft meets Skype + GoTo Meeting + Instant Messaging.
Look for some helpful Lync resources on the portal at http://portal.oldham.kyschools.us/sites/training.

network
password.
The Dashboard
Open from Task Bar

Use the Audio
and Video Device
Settings to set up
your microphone
or camera.
Availability
Or…that strange
colored bar that you
now see next to
your head on email.
Use this dropdown
to manually change
your availability.
Contacts
Search for new contacts.
Create new groups.
Check the availability of
your contacts.
Conversations
Review all of your
meetings and calls,
including those you
may have missed
while away.
Meetings
Check your meeting
schedule for the
day.
Now what?
Right click on a
contact or group to
get started.
Scheduling a Meeting
This is done
through your
email calendar.
You will need to
have Desktop
Outlook for this.
It is not an
option in the
webmail
calendar.
Instant Messaging
Type your message
and hit enter.
Making a Lync Call
