10/19 PM Meeting: Illustrative Input

In the space provided, please share any

additional thoughts, questions, concerns or ideas with the District.

• Both questions as well as ideas exist around future of unused buildings. • “What will happen to the Jane Addams building?” • “What will happen with New Tech West (old Brooklawn) building once phased

out?” • “Use Walton for swing site for LW.” • “Booker… as a swing site for Clark/Walton.”

• Scheduling at shared campuses must be thought out with care. • “If you stagger time for start and end of high schools, please consider this as it

relates to sports. Some schools… sacrifice classroom time on a regular basis for sporting events.”

• “I totally agree w/staggering start + end times of area high schools but athletics has to be addressed.”

• “Small school within one building should be on the same school schedule (yr round/extended/regular). With all the mergers and phase outs, will this happen?”

• It does not make sense to phase out New Tech West since they do not appear to be performing the worst across the various metrics. • “We have great attendance, rising performance index, great + growing graduation

rate…” • “If New Tech West is phasing out due to D rating, why are… schools with lower

PI’s untouched?” • “Why would you close a school that is doing well academically?” • “They are a successful school, 2nd highest PI, graduate 100% of physical bodies,

90% attendance average and high CFL outcomes.”
