Population and Production Stats

Geohive is a website which collects and displays statistics on population and economic production.

It is free to access at http://www.geohive.com/

It is collected and maintained by Johan van der Hayden, who describes it as his hobby.

Geohive displays statistics on population and economic production.

Population figures are arranged in several ways.

You could look alphabetically by country, or in a variety of subcategories.

The statistics about each nation are from that nation’s official statistics agency, or the U.N.

Geohive can answer questions about:

The current populations of nations

Population trends over time

Population projections

Population as arranged by age

Population figures regarding the urban/rural divide.

Agricultural production by crop type or nation.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of nations.

Geohive is only available online.

The main page features:

Several graphs showing world population grouped by age

Population projections

Recent updates to the site

Tabs at the top of the page to more information

Browsing is required; there is no search option.

The tabs hold the majority of the site’s data:

Global data

Country data

Resources

Home

The Global data page has subsections offering tables of data on:

The general population

The population by age

The urban/rural divide of the population

Global economic statistics, such as GDP

Statistics on crop production

The Country data tab leads to an index of nations organized alphabetically.

Clicking on a nation’s name leads to a profile of that nation, which includes that nation’s:

Official name

Capital

Census results

And administrative units (provinces, counties, etc.) and their populations.

The Resources tab leads to an index of official statistics agencies, grouped by continent and listed alphabetically.

These statistics agencies are the sources of Geohive’s data.
