PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN (Never known to fail)Oh, most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel, fruitful vine splendor of Heaven. Blessed Mother of the Son of God. Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me, herein you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth! I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to answer me in this necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. Oh, show me herein you are my mother. Oh, Mary con-ceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (3x). Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Holy Spirit, you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can attain my goal, you who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances in my life you are with me. I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things as you confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you in eternal glory. Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine. The person must say this prayer 3 consecutive days, after 3 days the request will be granted. This prayer must be published after the favor is granted. Thank you for favor received. S.M.C.

Great, Strange & Rarely Seen ExhibitALBANY – The Albany Institute of History & Art has unlocked its vault to present some of the little-known yet truly magnifi cent objects in the new exhibition Great, Strange and Rarely Seen: Ob-jects from the Vault opening Saturday, April 14. The exhibition reveals the cosmopolitan breadth of the Institute’s holdings with stunning Chinese lacquer, intricately carved Japanese netsuke, and 18th-century English porcelain statuettes. Other collections, like patent models and human hair jewelry, demonstrate the inge-nious and quirky sides of human creativity. Individuals are invited to celebrate the opening of the exhibition with a special reception on Thursday, April 12 from 5-7pm at the Albany Institute. Guests will enjoy a preview of Great, Strange and Rarely Seen followed by wine and light hors d’oeuvres. This event is Free of charge. Great, Strange and Rarely Seen is on display in the Main Floor Galleries of the Albany Institute of History & Art, located at 125 Washington Avenue, Albany. This exhibition has been generously funded by the Buchman Foundation and Elle Shushan, and will be on view through August 26. (P)

Talk on Delft Tiles at Pruyn HouseLATHAM – On Wednesday, April 11 at 7pm, Walter Wheeler of Hartgen Archaeological Assoc. will present a talk on Delft tiles at the Pruyn House in Latham. “Once Adorned with Quaint Dutch Tiles” is an analysis of Delft tiles found in archaeological contexts and historical collections in the Upper Hudson Valley. Archaeological excavations undertaken in the upper Hudson Valley region, particularly in the vicinity of Albany during the past 35 years, have yielded a number of fragments of decorative Delft tiles of various patterns. While several of these have been published and analyzed, to date no systematic assessment of this collection has been made. This talk will present a preliminary analysis of this body of material and compare it with examples possessing clear provenance from local historical collections and with references from documentary resources. A comparison of this group of tiles with examples known to have been contemporaneously available in the Netherlands will add depth to an analysis of the aesthetic choices and cultural meanings represented by these artifacts. Free admission; call (518) 783-1435 for further details. (A)

(MS) -- A clean windshield is an asset in all seasons. As we fi nish wiping away the last remnants of snow and ice, we get ready to deal with the heavy downpours of spring; and then, depending on where we live, for the dust blow-ing on a hot, dry summer’s day. And, of course, there is always the dirt that fl ies in from the road, construction areas and dry fi elds. Throw in a jumble of dead bugs and you can see why keeping your car’s windshield clean in all seasons will help enhance your safety and driving com-fort all year round.
“No matter what the weather, the moment you sit behind the wheel of a car, the fi rst thing you want is a clear view of the road -- with this need for clear vision becoming increasingly acute in snow, ice, rain, or dusty conditions,” said Ma-koto Takatsuka, Senior Prod-uct Manager, Wiping Systems for Bosch, the world’s largest supplier of wiper blades to vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket. (www.boschau-toparts.com)
In its own way, every sea-son poses a challenge for a car’s wiper blades. Take for instance, a freezing winter’s day when your windshield is covered in ice and snow. The wiper blades tend to get clogged, and get stuck to the glass, making it a struggle to pry them away from the windshield and get them back into doing their job.
On the other hand, in the sum-mer months, exposure to heat and ozone can cause the wip-ing element to crack and break apart. Plus, the dirt, bugs and other debris that splatter on the windshield may melt and stick, making it harder for the wipers to clean evenly with-out streaks and chatter. Heavy spring rains can reduce vis-ibility and compromise safety even more.
According to Takatsuka, to help overcome the challenges of adverse weather condi-tions, Bosch developed the ‘beam,’ or ‘fl at,’ wiper blade
A Clean Windshield Contributes To Safe Driving In All Seasons
design which completely eliminates the conventional bracketed support structure and uses tension spring arcing technology to create a custom fi t contoured to the curvature of the driver and the passen-ger sides of the windshield. Oftentimes, the curvature is not the same on both sides.
The premium Bosch ICON(TM) wiper blade is a beam blade designed to func-tion equally well in all weath-er conditions -- extreme cold, sleet, snow, heat, strong winds or heavy rain. ICON’s dual tension springs are housed in a fl exible, asymmetrical aero-dynamic spoiler that increas-es the downforce to keep the blade hugging the windshield even at highway speeds.
“Bosch ICON offers up to 40 percent longer life than other premium ‘beam’ blades on the market,” said Takatsuka.
“Furthermore, ICON’s fl ex-ible fx dual rubber wiping el-ement resists heat and ozone deterioration and helps main-tain fl exibility all year round. And, with no external steel brackets, springs, or parti-tioned plastic spoilers, ICON doesn’t clog with ice and snow in winter either.”
Result? A clean windshield and better overall wiping performance help to make driving safer -- in all kinds of weather. More information is available at www.boschau-toparts.com.
