• All Trent graduate students are given a Trent email account• trentu.ca/mytrent to activate your account• Complete the ‘new user activation form’ with the email you used for

your application to Trent University• 7 digit student number can be found on your letter of offer• Keep in mind, all communication from the School of Graduate

Studies will be sent to your Trent email account, check often • If you experience any difficulty, contact the Help Desk at it@trentu.ca

Your application status will be: RG – Student file records created. Ensure the graduate program listed and the start term are correct. Email graduate@trentu.ca if you do not see RG status or information needs updating

• Carefully review all the details of your offer, including deadline dates, funding package details and other important information.

• Ensure any outstanding conditions are met in order to finalize your admission

• If you find that extenuating circumstances are preventing you from starting your program, you may request a deferral. Consult with your graduate program for further information

Graduate terms are as follows:

FALL TERM: September to DecemberWINTER TERM: January to April SPRING/SUMMER TERM: May to August

We encourage you to consult with your graduate program and/or Supervisor prior to registering. Most graduate programs require students to register in mandatory courses with some elective choices available.

• Select the “Register” tab from top right when in myTrenthome screen

• Select “Course Registration”

First time you access registration, you will be asked to complete Emergency Contact Information. Add a Contact Name and click Add Contact. Asked to confirm details are correct. Will be asked to confirm this information remains accurate once a year.

Each time you enter registration, you will be asked to ACCEPT the financial responsibility for courses that are not dropped by refund deadlines. See: University Graduate Academic Calendar and Graduate Fee Deadlines for more information on deadlines.

• STEP 1 – Register for graduate studies.

Confirms that you are an active graduate student for the term.

• STEP 2 – Register for graduate courses.

For any coursework completed in your graduate studies.

• Once you have registered, you will be able to order your TrentU card• TrentU card is your library card, gym access, door access and the

easiest way to pay for everything you need, on and off campus• Some graduate students require special access to buildings or labs

using their TrentU card• Upload a photo through the myTrent portal: Services > TrentU Card
