Lilyfield, in Sydney’s inner-west, was almost taken over by neighbouring suburbs when the City West Link Road split it in two, but it has retained its identity and community spirit and remains a favourite with home buyers and investors. At just 6kms from the CBD, Lilyfield abutts Rozelle and Leichardt.

Lilyfield was originally a working class suburb, but like many inner-city areas has been renovated, re-worked and reinvigorated, but retains its culturally diverse roots.

PriceFinder reports houses sold for the median price of $742,500 last quarter, registering a modest decline from the same period last year of 6%. Units sold for the median price of $580,000 last quarter vs $481,000 for the same period in 2007, an increase of 20%. However last quarter the total volume of sales was low, making these figures statistically unreliable for both houses and units.
