Internet Tools:Implications for Marketing
Hi Krista!
Since day one of class, I have been wondering how the tools and issues we were learning about have and will effect the business world. I am a marketing major and will be starting a full-time position when I graduate at a company called Thomson West. I will be in their Market Intelligence Department as a Web Marketing Analyst. As I gathered information about a lot of the tools and internet features we discussed, I began to realize the opportunity marketers have with them. I collected a lot of research that proves these tools are being used and proves that certain uses of them have been successful. In this presentation I will go through some of the topics from class and discuss the implications of the tool for marketers. I chose topics that had research on the effects for marketers and that were most relevant as I enter the business world. I hope you enjoy this presentation. Try to pretend like I am standing in front of you in a classroom speaking! Thanks for a great semester. Enjoy your summer!
Sincerely, Kate Gustafson
WEB 2.0
“Don't expect people to come just because you build it. Finally, and most importantly, don't build Web 2.0
technology until you are ready to support it with the effort and, maybe even more importantly, the content it
will require.”

Web 2.0The concept of Web 2.0 is the overarching theme of our class

WikipediaThe department of Tourism would want to control what is on their Wikipedia entry. If they want individuals to research accurate information, they would keep an eye on this.
