Services Guide
USAG Fort Hunter Liggett Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) is dedicated to supporting the training needs of and improving the quality of life for
Soldiers, families, civilians, and retirees. We provide programs and services that enhance the quality of life for
those at Fort Hunter Liggett. In turn, our services and programs allow our Soldiers to complete their mission.

Who We Are
Sports and Fitness
The DeAnza Sports Center is a multi-purpose facility. Amenities include: • Gymnasium with regulation-size basketball and volleyball courts • Weight training facility with Nautilus machines and Hammer Strength equipment • Two cardio rooms with treadmills, step machines, stationary bikes, and elliptical trainers • Racquetball Court • Indoor 25-meter swimming pool • Outdoor sports field (ideal for softball, soccer, and flag football) • Newly renovated tennis court (not on site) • Blackhawk Park- group picnic facility equipped with two large barbecue grills, sand volleyball court, two
horseshoe pits, and permanent latrine facilities. Reservations are first come, first serve.
We can support and host a variety of programs catered to you: • Combative training • APFT’s • Drown proofing • Sports tournaments • Running and lifting events • Instructor-led aerobic, anaerobic, and high-intensity fitness classes • Swimming pool parties and Dive-In Movies

Recreation Center
The Recreation Center is a place for Soldiers to relax and unwind. With a variety of activities and programs, plus a snack bar with a light menu, the
Recreation Center is the perfect place to go after a hard day.
• Music room with guitars, drums, keyboard, and piano • Games on XBOX 360 and PS3 • Onsite movies for rent and televisions • NFL Ticket (during football season) • Game kits for units to sign out and use in the field (includes board games, cards, volleyball net and ball,
paperback books, and magazines)• Free events include, but not limited to: televised sporting events, monthly pool tournaments, monthly
video game tournaments, live televised viewing of PPV Boxing and UFC fights, trips to popular game shows like “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right”

Outdoor Recreation
Fort Hunter Liggett encompasses approximately 162,000 acres of grasslands, woodlands, and chaparral habitats in the beautiful mountains of California- making Fort Hunter Liggett prime for
those who love the great outdoors. We are equipped for activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking, and much more.
• Equipment for rent: tables kayak (1 person or 2 person) pontoon fishing raft fishing tubechairs canopy curvy water slide inflatable joust picnic tables inflatable basketball / t-ball dunk tank sleeping bagsmountain bicycles grill (charcoal and propane) campfire grill grill skillet w/ pots lanterns fishing poles tackle box horse shoes PA System fishing package (pole, net, tackle, and box) • Paintball Megarena- Measuring 100’x50’x25’, the Paintball Megarena is centrally located, easily accessible
and comes with bunkers, equipment, and staff to help run the game. Our speed ball games feature fast paced competition with dozens of game options. Just RSVP and prepare for an adrenaline packed day!
• Hunting and fishing program- must have FHL hunting permit, valid California Department of Fishing and Wildlife hunting license, species tags and/or stamps, and photo identification (none are available at FHL). • Primitive campground equipped with electricity, fire pits, Golden Age passes, and group sites for up to three trailers each. Call Outdoor Recreation for access.

Go Bowling!
Liggett Lanes Bowling Center is the perfect place to spend some recreational time, grab some food, or have a party!
• 6 lanes • 8 LCD TVs (perfect for watching the game)• Unit parties- private and adult oriented• Promotion events• Meetings • Patio dining• Multiple food and beverage selections- 17” fresh dough pizza, personal pizza, calzone, cheese bread,
hot dogs, and hot and cold sandwiches, domestic and imported beer, wine coolers, and fountain drinks
If you’re looking for a hot meal while out in the training area, Liggett Lanes’ Mobile Snack Truck can come to you!

Historical Hacienda Hotel & Catering

The Hacienda Hotel and Catering operation is a historical landmark previously owned by William Randolph Hearst and designed by Julia Morgan with the intent of entertaining everyone
who stayed there. Today, the Hacienda still serves that purpose!
• Perfect choice for any celebration! We can host retirement celebrations and ceremonies, unit functions, change of command ceremonies, memorial luncheons, parties, retreats, and any other function you want to have. The Hacienda also features a beautiful courtyard, so you can also enjoy your function in the California sunshine. Podium, projector, microphone, and PA system are available for use.
• Full service bar with karaoke, large projection screen, and Shuffle Board. • Stay the night with us! With a variety of original and beautiful rooms, the Hacienda is the perfect place to
wake up to the natural beauty that is California. Call the office for room information and reservations. • The Hacienda has a fantastic reputation on Fort Hunter Liggett for their catering service. We cater
breakfast, lunch, and dinner either “on the go” or seated service. “Off-site” catering is also available within the catonment area. Please call the office for a full menu and options. Army Community Services
Army Community Services (ACS) offers free classes, workshops, and seminars to help cope with the demands of life.
Descriptions of classes are listed below: • Survival Skills for Healthy Families (1.5 hours)- learn and practice the skills necessary to solve small
problems before they become unmanageable and how to change already difficult family problems• Stress Management (1 hour) - learn how to tackle many of the problems you face at the source of the
problem• Anger Management (1 hour) - the goal is to reduce both emotional feelings and physiological arousal that
anger causes • SHARP Unit Refresher Training and Commander’s Training (4 hours)- Sexual Harassment and Assault
Response Prevention, required annual training • Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention (2 hours)- learn how to recognize the signs of domestic
violence and safely intervene• Understanding Money and Credit ( 1.5 hours)- gain a better of understanding of where you are financially,
where you want to be, and how to better manage money• Checking Account Maintenance ( 3.5 hours)- refresh your money management skills in this hands-on
learning session • Financial Life Cycle Planning ( 2 hours)- financial issues in the different stages of life are discussed, learn
how to plan for now and your future

Books, Magazines, and Resources
With a host of reading materials, magazines, and study guides available for checkout, the Library is the perfect, quiet place to spend your downtime. The Library joins all Army Libraries in CONUS, Europe, and Asia under GLIS (General Library Information System). This automated system allows for patron registration, automated circulation, and cataloging. Once registered, the registration information follows the service member in relocation and deployments. Also, the user can enjoy
access to downloadable audio books and eBooks for FREE.

Unit Funds
Unit Funds are available to Reserve Training Units, “BOG,” assigned to Fort Hunter Liggett for training. Funding is provided in the amount of $1 per service member over a 30-day period. A memo which outlines the requirements is available
for viewing and download by visiting www.Liggett.Army.Mil/MWR (link is on the right hand side of the page).
Units that are assigned to Fort Hunter Liggett, and have available funding from their headquarters, may arrange for functions at any of our facilities by contacting Rick
Bosch, Community Operations Division Chief (contact information listed on the back of this pamphlet). Coordination will then be made with the Financial Manager to
process transer of funds to Fort Hunter Liggett using our assigned “CAGE Code.”
