In 2012 study conducted by Norton, it was revealed that �cybercrime was estimated at about $110 Billion annually…�

Hackers are

attracted to social

networking sites because

they see the potential to

commit fraud…

There have been many instances where social media has caused companies public relation nightmares

In January 2012, McDonalds launched a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #McDStories. It was hoping that the hashtag would inspire heart-warming stories about Happy Meals The campaign was pulled 2 hours later after the hashtag turned into a bashtag. A few of the tweets included:

-One time I walked into McDonalds and I could smell Type 2 diabetes floating in the air and I threw up. #McDStories -These #McDStories never get old, kinda like a box of McDonald’s 10 piece Chicken McNuggets left in the sun for a week -#McDStories I lost 50lbs in 6 months after I quit working and eating at McDonald’s

companies  brand  and  image

Social media provides access to audiences your business might not otherwise have access to, only through expensive methods, or perhaps not even at all

This  not  only  saves  money,  but  allows  for  free    adver]sements  and  promo]ons  on  these  sites

Social networks help build relationships as they !have fans, followers and friends who participate !in discussions…!
